How to Hang Up Your Bike

    Useful to do this for a number of reasons, especially or long-term storage, maintaining work etc.



    All you need is a horizontal bracer overhead to use as an anchor point then get some rope, brackets, nuts, bolts and washers and get cracking! :)

    Or just turn it upside down and let it sit on the handlebars and the seat, eh?

    Not all bikes are happy with that method. It's inherently unstable to rely upon with some models (like mine).

    I used to hang my Motobecane upside down from padded (plastisol coated, actually) hooks (between the spokes) screwed into the garage joists. Light enough to not need a hoist.

    they got this thing called an adjustable seat. adjust it until the bike WILl stand upside down. Very simple, saves lots of work making a stand.

    Yeah I heard about those, trouble is it it depends on your FRONT handlebars. On mine (the Montague Paratrooper) it's unstable no matter how you fiddle with the adjustable seat.

    It didn't take a lot of work to hang it up either. :)
