EPA moves to regulate new wood stoves - The Washington Post Apparently, due to health concerns, the EPA is asking manufacturers to make their stoves 80% more efficient. Maybe they could also ask the BLM and USFS to make wild fires more efficient as well.
Let them come all the way out here, and try and tel Momma that she can't Smoke her Salmon..... They will understand what RockSalt feels like burning their BackSides..... Are they "Asking" or Demanding????
...and this is why I already have a replacement wood stove for when the current one eventually bites the dust...which will likely be around 20 years from now
A friend had a wood stove business and the EPA shut him down because the heaters were not efficient enough--that was 15 yrs ago. One of my first bad tastes of the monster's controls.
Buy your old stuff now & get it grandfathered in . Rainbow Warriors on on the loose ... I have lived with a Airtight / firebox since landing in north america.
Guess there will be no more burn piles either, and perhaps they will stop burning slag piles in the National Forest after clear cutting it. You know I have about as much expectation of the EPA coming to my front door over my Traeger or Big Chief smoker as I do the County Sheriff coming to investigate a break-in.
My 'guess' is that they don't like wood stoves, because it doesn't make money for the power/fossil fuel companies. Plus letting people use a renewable resource for heating/cooking? How is that environmentally friendly?!
It is all about control..... The key is, what are you doing/buying to mitigate these new rules coming?!
Buying more ammo. Oh yeah, I try to vote against every fool I can. The ammo is for when the VOTE finally rolls over and dies.
Every time I see something like this, I start hearing Rage Against the Machine's 'Killing in the Name Of' song . . . last 30 seconds or so.
This just in, the EPA is looking to limit the purchases of Chili Beans to 2 cans per week. They are concerned about the methane output per square mile affecting ozone levels. It is reported the Obama administration is approving 275 million to the EPA to purchase methane sniffing dogs. So next time you see a dog sniffing a persons butt, it may be for the prevention of ozone depletion.
Two cans a week?? Down here in Texas that's just breakfast! Talk about starting a revolution. Glad they aren't going after tortillas too.Want to control methane output? Nuke DC. Problem solved.
