That would a fun build.. I'm a gear head type so I enjoy building..

Would you go air or water cooled? A bullet in the engine can stop either; no radiator means one less thing.

I worked with a guy who was involved with one of the off shoots of the GMV; very lightly armored and a lot of power. Sort of a get out of ambush fast vehicle.

    Yeah, me too.
My main problem is finding the donor Samurai. I can't seen to find one or the needed running gear for a decent price. All I need is a POS that has the parts I need. I would go through everything anyway so it doesn't matter the condition as long as they are rebuildable.Around here if they can be found everyone wants an arm and a leg for them.

Probably a shielded radiator as I figured on using the motor from the Samurai.

    That would've been fun.:)

A mechanic that works out of the local NAPA has an old M37. I've asked him about selling, still working on him. I have a '95 dodge 3500 cummins 4x that would make a nice donor to up grade that M37;)

I like building things I don't have to drive in the morning. That gets old quick. Something I can spend time and thought on, and play around with, is a lot more fun.

All my hobbies have torque or recoil. ;) I was a power train design type (aka a chair borne ranger LOL) for 40 years and turning a wrench at home was an outlet. Fortunately, I've been blessed with a woman who enjoys the same.
Plus, as I used to do work for others, I've heard plenty of comments about who would be so stupid to design it that way.
I have a bunch of buds who are gear heads; one just drove 200+ one way to get a posi-diff for his 69 Olds. Often one must put some serious miles on to satisfy the need.

The real fun was when the driver took Joe for a test ride. Joe said his knees almost folded when he got out.
