My Mom Passed Away This Afternoon

After living with and being taken care of by my wonderful Brother and his wife for the last 8 years, this afternoon our Mom passed away peacefully at their home. She did fine until just after Christmas, then took a turn for the worse. She made it just past her 93rd birthday last week. Services will be held in her hometown in SW LA late next week where she will be laid to rest next to her husband (our Dad) and our oldest brother.

Sweetie, Bunny and I are all doing well. Sweetie and I head over to Louisiana tomorrow for the services. Sad times, but not unexpected. She was a wonderful woman and lived through an incredibly changing world.

93 years, amazing. She must have been a fascinating woman to talk to.She probably had stories and wisdom that were priceless. @TXKajun I am so sorry for your loss. My thoughts & prayers will be with you and your family.

Sincere condolences and prayerful thoughts to @TXKajun. Lost my mother in June 2014. She had 85 wonderful years plus one more year of tough going over an extended illness. When she left us, she was ready....No matter how much one prepares, the entire family mentality changes. Cherish the good memories, and strive to get along with surviving family members as a peacemaker and comforter.

 

I am very sorry @TXKajun. I still miss my Mom. I pray you have courage each and every day. You are not alone and this what is important right now.
All of the worlds' problems seem so distant right now and unimportant. True statement.
Take time each day to look up at the sky in the sunlight and at the moon in the nighttime. It really helps, I do not know exactly why.
Sip some herbal tea on the porch. Sharing your thoughts is very important. Spend a little alone time too. But, not too much.
Try and smile some each day. It helps too. Think of the good times you had growing up and how your Mom would feel right now if she could help you thru it.
II will pray for you.
