Has anyone else thought about prepping for the recovery?. I am storing documents, title, property description etc., on the basis of every great upheaval in history has had a time of recovery. During that time people try to reclaim what they had or can recover, to include from mutual funds, stocks, retirement systems.
While other try to steal what they can from those who don't have proof of ownership.

Many people have paperless titles on their cars and real-estate. Can you prove what is yours without your computer or their records?

If the system is so far gone that I have to worry about it? Especially on a return to civilization? I have a nice club that I am not afraid of getting dirty.

@fedorthedog - There are two websites/sets of information I would suggest are cd3wd (you'll need to get the DVD ISOs off of BitTorrent as the site is gone) and Pole Shift Survival. Both have, for lack of a better description, the information needed to recreate society/technology.

The real question is how we replace all of our former paper trails? Your car title is made out to a finance company and exists as a collection of 1 and 0 somewhere, as does your payments on the car, your bank deposits, balances, 401K savings, hospital and medical records, house payments, tax payments, deed to you house, and so on. More and more records are digital and with no real paper backups possible. If the digital record is lost, there is often no way to prove it is or was yours. I don't know what the answer is.

Cars & Trucks will be all over the Place, and available for the taking, to ANYONE who wants one....After a REAL SHTF Event..... All one will need to do is to be able to make it RUN... So a ownership Paper Trail isn't likely to be nessesary... Same with Land.... The population will be greatly reduced, especially in Cities, and Suburbs, where mostly, few survivors are going to stay... Anyway... So it will be it is yours if you can HOLD IT, and defend it.... If NOT, then it will be theirs....

I'm not sure if going back to our current technological level would be a good thing in those scenarios. I like my computers don't get me wrong, but they're not going to put food on my table or wipe my a$$.
