I particularly liked the wood gasifier for electricity generation.

 

Gasifiers are very cool but be careful...they can go boom

 

There is a risk factor with many situations where combustible gases come in contact with ignition sources. DIY efforts probably increase the risk factor quotient.

The cautionary video clip is well worth taking note of.

I thought the wood gasifier didn't look that bad. Actually one of the better done ones I have seen.
