Attached is a pamphlet from PHLUSH (Public Hygiene Lets Us Stay Human) regarding a two bucket waste system. Since Oregon is in a zone that could face a natural disaster, they have a great deal of information available.

We have discussed single bucket waste collectors but this pamphlet explains why you should have two.
Please see the link for the whole brochure. https://www.portlandoregon.gov/pbem/article/394125

"With extra buckets and lids, you
can store pee until it can be sprinkled on land
    as a fertilizer."

So I'm saving a step and money by just walking out back and peeing behind a tree in the grass...

Wow! I have never wanted to be a Marine less than I do now.

But this definitely explains why they're always grunting "hoo rah" to each other!!!

Yep, Gieger and Parris Island. When was the last time you saw Gieger, Bishop. I went there about 6 years ago , they've added a few buildings since the 80s, now the entrance to Gieger is the New River Airfield. Lots of memories there.

It is a really smart idea because it makes disposal easier for the urine part. I never thought to separate human waste.

When doing roadtrips by vancamper, I use the Homer bucker for Number Two, and a bottle for pee. The bottle gets emptied more often. A liner bag and Kitty litter helps in the bucket.

When living in my RV or camping with my girls, 98% of the time I would pee out side instead of using the RV loo. May sound odd, but it did make a difference on how fast the holding tank would reach max. One thing I did notice while living in it while working was I "needed" to pee in the toilet a certain amount to insure that there was enough liquids in the tank to allow it to properly drain when I emptied it.
    Sorry if that's TMI:eek:
