s-l500 (4). Following up on a recommendation from AxesAreBetter I bought the following Canvas Utility Belt with 8 pockets on Ebay to wear for quick get out immediately situations to suppliment a pre-packed survival carry bag. Can use recommendations of what you suggest I pre-pack in this, for Urban areas (places with concrete) only not wilderness areas. This is a starter belt as I probably will get one with more features in the future.
    s-l500 (2).

This belt has 8 pockets: 4 zipper pockets and 2 snap pockets on the outside of the belt and 2 that zip on the inside! Can hold everything from a passport to a 6 oz flask in these amazingly stylish belts. • Secures with a strong buckle.
    • Adjustable to fit hips/waist from 35″ to 43″
    P O C K E T S
    • 6 x 6 x 1.25" (front zipper)
    • 6 x 6 x 1.25" (front zipper)
    • 4.5 x 4.25 x 1.25" (front snap)
    • 4.5 x 4.25 x 1.25" (front snap)
    • 3 x 3 x 1.25" (middle outside)
    • 3 x 3 x 1.25" (middle outside)
    • 5 x 5" (inside)
    • 5 x 5" (inside)

It will be interesting to see what you put in there. It seems like small compartments to me. All I can think of to put in there would be a mylar blanket, cheapo rain poncho, matches/lighter. Seems small but would be easier and more secure to carry then a backpack.

Money, put as much cash as you can squeeze into it and buy what you need or give it to Tyron to keep him from cutting you.

what ever you decide to carry split your goods... never put all of your fire making items in one pocket, same with water purification, bullion cubes/packs, Tools etc.... If a pocket is damaged/torn you could loose everything in it by splitting the items you have twice the chance of having something that you may need when you need it....

A couple packets of dehydrated dihydrogen monoxide.

Double that if Tyron decides you should carry his.

Thanks Excellent idea that I never would have thought of. Out of curiosity, for the supplies/boxes that I have at my home or to put in a vehicle should I also go by that same philosophy of not putting the same types of items in one box, should something happen to that container.

Tyron has signed an advanced services contract to be my bodyguard/lead scout should he not be in prison or on an NBA roster

That is the way I plan it... the old saw 2 is 1 and 1 is none also counts for packing... I have been in the field and unknowingly ripped the outside pocket on an old Alice pack and spent unnecessary time following my trail back to pick up lost items...

A bit more serious in thought:
    • I'm assuming that you also have a pack with a built in hydration system, so the belt is for things you need to to access quickly
    • If the belt and pack won't allow easy access to your pistol, then it should go in the compartment that's most natural for you to reach with your dominant hand.
    • Ammo should be in the opposite compartment to counterbalance and for your less dominant to access for rapid changes
    • IMMEDIATE first aid as in something to stop the bleeding
    • compass
    • flashlight
    • Paracord
    • knife
    • maps
    • food, like trail bars
    • firestarter - note it seems I'm on a "ten essentials" theme here
ABOVE ALL - make CERTAIN that the belt does no prevent access to anything you need QUICKLY like a firearm. Also make certain that it doesn't make ANY noise when you walk.

Thanks that's most of the stuff I had contemplated before posting I was planning to put hydration/filer stuff and first aid kit in my carry own bag instead but will try to put stiff to stop immediate bleeding in the belt.

Have no idea what this is Will have to research this

If you are in an urban area it will open just about any commercial faucet for water currently in use in the US....

With this style belt consider a modified drop leg holster if concealment is no issue... or a possible IWB depending on size of weapon...

One of those pouches would work for spare eyeglasses, if you wear them.

Don't see mention of a personal survival kit - one 6"X6" pouch for it. Don't forget prescription meds, if you need them. Good heavier pocket knife, in addition to a decent multitool. Don't rely on the multitool for a knife.
Ditto on the energy bars. A compass if you intend any hiking, even in the "concrete canyons".
Some money in case some are still acepting it for supplies.
Basically those essentials you need if you are forced to drop your pack.

Pocket knife. Get a couple GOOD pocket knives and carry in different pockets.
Roll of assorted change, several packets of small bills ($1/$5/$10) and put one packet in two or three pockets, maybe more.
Copy of important papers (DI, passport, insurance). Keys to house, car, business (DO NOT LOSE THOSE! Once they steal your belt they have your address!).
Water proof matches in match safe.
Protein bars (try them first! Some I still couldn't choke down after a couple days of no food).
Cigarette lighters (several in different pockets, get Bic, not Scripto).
Zippo lighter (with spare fluid, it evaporates).
    Small vice-grips.
    Set of screwdrivers.
    Pain pills!
Bandaids and bandages, A&D ointment, surgical tape.
    Flashlight (several)!
Rope (para-cord), safety pins, wire, plastic pull ties, hard candy.
Pen/pencil. Paper (few sheets of paper in plastic bags, small notebook).
Plastic bags. Garbage down to sandwich bags!
    Compass. Yes, really.
    Map(s). City, county, state.

You've seen what I put in my pouch. Haha.
I would certainly carry a good folder in there, a hank of cordage (para or bank), maybe some zipties, firestarter, smaller filter straw or maybe some of those sick tasting water pills? If you can get into the belt, or want to add an extra layer, I would carry a bowsaw blade in there while I was at it. And a decent sewing/fishing kit. Yoyos even, would fit in a pouch. At least a micro compass. Contractors bag(s). Meds/kit, yeah. A sling (rock sling) or slingshot is not a terrible idea.
With that, I would wear a shoulder holster, and a canteen on the other and a sheath knife somewhere.
