    Asia-Off-Grid RIP 11-8-2018

Yoga is something that I see practiced here quite often. It is mostly performed by foreigners in country, rather than Khmers, though.

Personally, if I were to get into some of the positions they do for yoga, I don't think I would ever get out of them!

I'm not sure how much salt I consume daily. But, I never add salt to anything I eat. I have been this way since I was a boy. In fact, the only thing I have ever added salt to, prior to eating it, was watermelon.

Hmm. Something is wrong in my calculation, here. I ain't sayin' I'm fat. But, my result is telling me that I need about 27 gallons of water, per day. :D

Seriously, living in SEA full time, by comparison to anyone I know, I consume massive quantities of water, daily. Literally, anywhere between 6 and 8 liters (over 1.5 gallons to over 2 gallons) of water, is what I drink. If you ever were to visit me, you would see I carry a 40 oz plastic cup (one of a number I collected while stateside) all over the farm. That doesn't include coconuts, juices, the odd soft drink, or Royal D (Cambodia's version of Gatorade). I also drink a bit of whiskey and the odd beer. Oh, and the Boss occasionally makes me some Southern Sweet Iced Tea. I can't forget that!

    Zimmy Wait, I'm not ready!

You might double the amount of water if it's hot and humid as Houston....

If it's worse, I'll pray for you.

*****How to reduce BO - aka Body Odor- SHTF Scenario
    ***********
    ok I'm done

on a more serious note, I stepped off of a 1 inch concrete walk and sprained my ankle so bad the Dr told me I would have had less damage if I had broken it. Having said that, ice and walk was the best solution.

in the case of muscle sprain ice, walk, eat jello and drink gelatin in water.

IT could be a whole range of things like, dehydrated, collegian, low magnesium, calcium, or other electrolytes
    .
I get cramps in my legs without enough magnesium .... see above link for magnesium from milk of magnesia under BO thread.....

One thing we all lack in our diet is gelatin and collagen. we just don't eat bone marrow or meat with alot of ligaments and tendons in it. It keeps you more limber.

Pulling a muscle out of bed might suggest you have some kind of long term deficiency or inability to absorb something.

I do not think we can see or prevent everything that could possibly happen to us. If you live, you get injured. All we can do is be as careful as we can and heal up when we get injured.

Sorry to hear you are injured, leg injuries are not for the lame of heart.

I feel your pain Ura-Ki. Literally. About 15 years ago I was driving to work when my phone rang. Caller ID showed it was from an ex girlfriend. Turned out it wasn't her but the second I read her name my lower back cramped and ripped. I wasn't doing anything but sitting behind the wheel. For days I could hardly walk.

Took a long time before I was normal again.

Hope you have a faster recovery!

Hydration is the one area I'm painfully aware of! I have a hyper metabolism, it's both a bonus and a curse! I wry rarely get sick, but when I do, it' a doozy! I am also very prone to dehydration, so keeping ahead of it is imperative! I find plane old water serves me best, the boosted stuff tends to cause issues with me. I also have to watch my diet, I go from extreme if I don't watch out! Thats My curse, because i prosess my intake so quickly, I also burn through it and have the ups and downs that follow it!

Cmon kid, suck it up and drive on!![doh] Sounds like night cramps coming on. Lots of good remedies to be found here in the tree (maybe because the tree is full of silverbacks?). You'll just have to search out the one that works the best for you. I take a swig of pickle juice in the evening after a sweaty day. Usually works but if it don't I just look at it as a reminder that I needed to get up to pee anyway.

If you need to get any dental work done, get it taken care of. The toxins from dental disease can cause all kinds of havoc inside your body both directly and indirectly. Get your teeth examined and x-rayed even if you aren't in pain because you may not be getting symptoms yet - at least ones directly related to dental disease. Since I had all my teeth yanked I feel much better all the way around.

We have answers to natural and man made stuff you (if fortunate) won't ever need to think about. If you are right handed and break your social finger just before a colonoscopy prep, you'll get an inkling ---

Yeah, I'm sure your calculation is off. There is no way you weigh 6,912 lbs. Calculation for ounces of water to drink per day (based on the post) is weight in lbs/2.

    ie: 200 lb person ... 200/2 = 100 ounces. 100 ounces / 128 (ounces per gallon) = .78 gallons (roughly) or a little over 3 quarts of water.

The suggestion was "half your body weight in ounces per day". The clarification would be "ounces of water equal to half your body weight in lbs".
