Some of you may know that Israel’s government issues civilians with gas masks. Today I will bore you all to death with pictures of these. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v42/allanea/gasmask/mask1.jpg. There are three: Mom’s, Dad’s, and mine. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v42/allanea/gasmask/mask2.jpg The Hebrew writing says: PROTECTIVE KIT, ADULT. The logo on the left is that of the Army Rear Defense Branch. In theory these packages are to be sealed and the seal is to remain unbroken until the government announces that there is a danger of an impending chemical attack. The seal on this one was broken during the US offensive in Iraq, when the government in fact announced this. So I can now open this box and show you what’s inside. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v42/allanea/gasmask/mask4.jpg As you see, there is a straw thing that connects to the gas mask to allow you to drink during the alerts. There is the gas mask and filter, which is again under a seal so I would have to rip it off to put it in place. This is something I will not do for these photos because it will both jeopardize the quality of the filter, and because (more importantly given the low likelihood of an attack) the government inspects these masks when they are turned in and could fine me for it. Since I have to eventually turn it in to receive a new mask when the filter expires, meh. There is also an atropine injector, which is designed so anybody could use it easily. After injecting the atropine, I am to bend the needle and use it to attach the injector to my clothing. So if I lose consciousness, medical personnel can know I have been injected. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v42/allanea/gasmask/atropin.jpg
If they would go flatten some sand into glass around you, your people wouldnt have to wear those. Some day....................
Thats great! Im a huge IDF supporter, and I help mod on an IDF veteran website. I even drive around with a "I support the IDF!" bumper sticker thats written in Hebrew. I was wondering, are your filters for those masks still made in Belgium?
No idea. They have handily removed any kind of notes from the masks that would help to identify the original manufacturer.
Notice he supports a guy who would NOT do that preemptively? http://www.survivalmonkey.com/forum/showthread.php?p=57006#post57006
