A friend of mine sent me this, not that anything is new, it's not. This has been around for 30 years or so and yet our illustrious government is still doing nothing. It does however, look like an interesting movie. I do want to see it when it comes out.

I like the little flash of the Gadsden flag at the end. I think there is a good chance that our puppet government will pull up stake and run in an event like that. First they take all of our gold and silver, then make everyone hate us, and then don't prepare for the most likely worst case scenario. I would say that is not even a coincidence.

How many other countries do you think are preparing for an EMP? There is a good chance that all of the ones who are hostile to us are preparing for it. How much would it even the playing field for them? That would explain the coffins and bullets they bought.

What is on your list of things for EMP survival?

A few years back , I watched a movie on TV about the gas flow from the gulf being cut off from an offshore oil well fire I believe . It showed the stores food supplies depleted , the criminals stealing and looting . Then , it was just a few months after I saw that movie , a hurricane knocked out an oil platform or something in the gulf , and our gas supplies were few and far between for a few weeks . Gas prices shot up to 5 bucks plus . Just thought it was a coincidence . If this movie comes out , we might have another coincidence . Stock up .

Me? A years worth of food, enough solar gear to run H2O pump + charge batteries buried in farady, along with backup HAM + other electronics, weapons/ammo to equip pretty much the local, extended family. I collect older armstrong power hand tools, 4 years worth of wood laid by after this winter, an ancient deisel 4 cyl, 4x4 truck with <0> electronics. And live well past the walking range of 99.9% of the city pukes. oh, and 2 acres of garden + chickens inside a fenced area.

As gas prices have moderately stabilized I plan to refill some of my fuel reserves .
A few hundred gallons of gas and diesel won't go far post SHTF, but further than most that store nothing at all.
Generator is worth nothing without fuel ,and though it can be run on methane you need a organics to make it.
Wood gas works as well but it's a different process . So does alcohol with yet another process .
The value of making power is worth what get's you further down the road so to speak .
I figure that meats in the freezer will need to be made jerky or at least dried and or canned .
The generator only needs to run long enough to process all the refrigerated foods and to supplement the battery system as required. the battery system is primarily for lighting and security cams .

I've wondered where all the money is going. Oil has been less than $45/barrel but pump prices are at an all time high. Who is making the cheddar today?

Look to your local fuel distributors...gasoline is 1.73/gal here...far from all-time highs.

Our Gasoline Prices are unchanged from Last Fall, when we got our last Fuel shipment...
    Gasoline $4.50/USG
    #1 Diesel $3.75/USG
    #2 Diesel $3.25/USG

If I remember correctly Inland lift cost's ran an average of $12.00/$15.00 per barrel
Offshore was higher $17.00/$19.00 per barrel
After that oil company's started making a little money by shear volume of produced oil.
Once the oil hit the sales pipeline via a L.A.C.T. Unit it gets its first tax and the majority of the time someone gets a royalty check.
Pipeline gets a cut of the profit,Next the refinery's,More tax btw,Distributor gets a cut.
To the pumps and .Gov gets about 42 cents per gallon of taxes here in La.,Be it state and Fedzilla
.Gov is the ones that make out like bandits because,Well they are!!!

If the power grid goes down tomorrow and there is no electricity… what will you do?”

When I read that I thought what would my doctor do? I went for my yearly visit and the doctor allowed the computer tell her everything. It scares me how much society relies on computers. If the grid went down tomorrow, money in the bank and your safe deposit box will not be accessible because that is all electronically done. Even at my work, many vendors etc.. only have computer records. I am a paper person so I could function business-wise. I even print out vital e-mails. But everything would stop. I believe just the silent would drive some people crazy. How many actually have silence in their lives? No radio, tv or hum of life.

There would be a bunch of hungry, starving, dead people. If that happened this world would be a sorry place to live for a long time. But one thing about it,the world would not be over populated as it is now.

Silence? I love silence. Haven't watched TV in years ex the occasional pol rant, and that I can stream. The commuter vehicle has amazing sound gear, I listen to talk radio if anything at all. I prefer the wind noise of the sunroof.
The Doctor<>Computer behavior is a real issue in our society, and should scare the ^&* ! out of everyone. I go to a GP who's roughly my age and considers the computer systems to be a tool, like myself. I readily admit that IT & associated data systems provide me with a very nice income, but they can disappear in a heartbeat - anyone recall the massive AWS S3 outage in Feb '17 that dropped a few hundred thousand web sites? All due to a typo... I do. and there have been many more since.
Our massively connected world is useful, a PITA, and allows lots of nice things, and also allows lots of not so nice things as well. I use it, I do not trust it and try very hard not to rely on it.
So no internet connected "things" in the house, ex for a few laptops, and complete capability to survive if it all goes away. In fact, there are some days I wish it would...

Everything blinks off. How long before I would occur to you that things are off for good? The power goes off and I always think, the power went off. I do not rush to my phone to read if the power went off. Power failure, computer glitch vs EMP, how long would it take you to realize? If you are in the city and all the cars died it would be obvious but those in the woods, what signs do you look for? Some may think it is a silly question but different events bring different reactions from those prepared.

I'm right there with ya Gator . When I do have the TV on , I have it turned up so loud other people can hear it from outside , just trying to knock out the ringing in my ears .

For me , if the power is out for more than a couple of days , I'll start to wonder . I'm pretty much in the woods as you say , not as far back as I'd like to be , but , For me , I would be listening for the sounds of gunshots in the distance . I know what I usually hear in my AO , and what most shooting patterns are like out here . You can most of the time tell the difference in target practice , hunting game , or self defense shooting , were possible different caliber weapons going off in quick succession ,,,,,, then silence . Or different calibers going off in different areas , to sounds of well placed rounds . these sounds may not be 100% accurate , but they are 100% awareness alerts .

Those "living in the woods" can likely get along much better and longer than the urban dwellers. Losing grid power and internet for them would be an inconvenience. For the urban dwellers, it means death.
