Very nice. I'm impressed. When the family and I go hiking I try to bring a good lightweight assortment of gear for each of us. Think I need to rethink my selection. Thanks DKR! I don't see a hiking stick though. Convinced my wife to try using one. She wont hike without it.
Yeah - my 'hiking stick' is 12 GA and has a pump action... DW now will carry a single trekking pole. Good to hold up the poncho if nothing else...
my day bag has a complete HF station, a Patrol bag/w bivy, some chow and other things. I took a lot of cr@p from folks about my hiking stick, despite the local Ranger indicating the trail. was a highway for the local bear population. Yes, the hiking stick is a folder. it's not just bears you need to worry about. The hair on the back of this moose is standing up - not a good sign.
a FAK of sorts The IFAK is the USGI kit in the middle of this image w/pouch This zippered bag (red) is a module is designed for dealing with minor trauma with limited bleeding. A version of this is called out in some detail in the Resources section in the 12 part booklet (A DIY Disaster Kit)
