One of our chickens has been laying some whopper eggs. This one was 94gr......Jumbo eggs start at 70.9gr, so this is right at 33% over minimum size for Jumbo. Won't come close to fitting in a Jumbo carton. The one on the left is a 50gr medium size egg.
Save up a dozen. Knock together an egg crate out of 1/2" wood strips. Then sell them on Craigslist for $148.00 each or $1628.00 per dozen. Call them "Mammoth Eggs". Explain that they are laid only by the genuine Giant-Egg Chicken, a rare and precious beast once kept exclusively for the culinary enjoyment of Emperors and Kings. Laying eggs far too large for any normal chicken, these ordinary-looking chickens are rumored to be the magical offspring of Rocs and Ostriches, and the sublime flavor of their eggs has been the subject of song and poetry for countless generations. To say nothing of their ability to cure baldness, restore failing vision, and confer Immortality upon any person so fortunate as to partake of one. Then give 'em a few bars of "Oh, My Chicken Laid Some Real Big Eggs (Do-dah! Do-dah!)". Tap dance a little, if you can. Then tell 'em you couldn't dance at all at 85, when you first tasted one. Caution: Do not take checks. Some people may not be entirely honest.
There is a chicken with a vent that looks like a mac truck went through it. It was probably the one making the most noise in the coop as well.
I've got a hen that does that from time to time but there is just more white than the yoke you expect. they are so big you can't close a carton on them. no enhancement or improvement and still loosing hair.
Yeah, some are double yolks, some single. I wonder....if a double yolk is fertilized, would it hatch twins ? Anybody know ?
Nope , the double yolk if fertilized, only one yolk could developed , we have candled a twin yolk , as the chick grows in the egg using the white as food and also the rich second yolk . then there must be an air sack /area for the chick to move and crack the shell ,to tight and death , OR if candle and notice , we help it break out .
