Anybody have any thoughts on the steel frame EAA Witness 10mm? Debating on a "threat stopping" pistol, and an opportunity to own one has come up.

Basically a Jericho/ CZ hybrid, nothing inherently wrong with them!
It comes down to price and capacity and if it fits your needs well enough!
That said, unless your stuck on it ( Or it's a super good deal) have a look at the Rock Island 1911 double stack 10 mm auto pistols!
A stunning deal on a high cap 1911 in 10 mm with 17+ 1 capacity!

10mm ammo was expensive last time I looked. Load for 30 already?

Not any more! Thanks to a huge resurgence from several different places, the price and availability has really come around!
I'm getting decent stuff for around $18.00 a box of 50, and really good stuff for around .90 cents a round!
It's also a really good round to reload, and there are plenty of really good choices in bullets and powders out there now!
I'm loading it for around .9 cents a round now days!

@Ura-Ki Would you take the Rock Island over the Glock 20? I definitely want a 10mm in the future, maybe Christmas.

    Short answer, YES, HELL YES!
Long answer, I have a Glock G-20 Gen 1 and while it's adequate, it leaves much to be desired! The problem with the Glock is it was never meant to handle full power 10 mm, and it doesn't have a fully supported chamber, which can cause feeding issues and could lead to catastrophic failure at worst! There is even the infamous Glock Smiley which is quite pronounced in 10 mm!
The 1911 has proven it's self more then up to the task of handling Full NUKE power level 10 mm ammo reliably and with out issues!
It took the 1911 industry a little while to figure out how to cope with that kind of power, but ALL production 1911's in 10 mm have ramped barrels and full chamber support! And, as a bonus, the 1911's double stack grip and magazines can hold more rounds then the Glock or any other standard type semi auto pistol, making it the top dog in power and capacity!

If your gun bulges cases like that it needs to be donated to the fast and furious program.

Every Glock in 10mm does it, every time, the 1911's never!
The hottest load the Glock can take is: 11.4 gr Blue Dot under a 200 gr Lazercast bullet @ 1106 ish FPS
the Hottest I can safely get the 1911 to run is 13.6 gr Blue Dot under a 220 gr Grizzly Solid HP @ 1340 ish FPS!
Any hotter and she starts to push primers back!

Had a Delta Elite in 10mm briefly years ago. Traded it off for a .45 because factory ammo was so very expensive. I managed to lose most of the brass after it was ejected, so reloading wasn't even all that practical.

The cartridge almost seemed to fade into obscurity in the years following and as I later came to understand it, the Delta Elites of the era had a tendency to develop cracked frames.

Even though I don't own one today, I'm glad to see the cartridge / firearm combination in a bit of a resurgence. It's a great caliber and would prefer it over a .40 any day. You can't deny the power of this cartridge. It's like a hot loaded .357 in an autoloader, only better due to the larger frontal area and the ability to handle heavier projectiles.

I can't wipe my big ass for .9 cents! Did you mean reload for 9 cents a round?

Bulging cases, that's scary...to put it mildly. Doing a little reading, I guess changing to an aftermarket barrel eliminates this problem but who wants to purchase a new gun just to have to change its barrel to shoot it. I can't believe Glock has not jumped on this problem... Just the thought of it would put me off shooting it and certainly buying it...

@Ura-Ki Is this happening with standard 10mm commercial rounds also or just the super hot rounds?

The Glocks also have a tendency to go off out of battery around the magazine release.

I have been really debating a 10mm or a .44, and the opportunity for the 10mm just sort of appeared. I was looking at a new XDM in 10mm, but I can get a great deal (enough money off for a handful of mecgar mags and a holster) with the witness....guess I have an answer.

10mm ammo is cheap enough I am looking into them....

First 10mm I shot was a Gold Eagle Colt, and I could not get over how much gun was stuffed into how little recoil.

Yes, factory stuff is bulging from a factory Glock, and whats worse, even the aftermarket barrels do not fully address the issue, i tried with mine amd I still get the Glock Smile on my brass!
A lot of so called "Experts" have told me the Gen4 and later pistols have solved the issues, but having shot a Gen4 it was just as bad as my Gen1!

Axes, if you are getting that EAA for a smokin deal, go for it, they are a good unit and will run a long time!

Correct! The biggest cost is Boolits, and if you shop around, you can usually score the .40 cal boolits cheap!

    SIG, Hornady and PPU!

For carry use, I use the SIG V-Crown, Grizzly HP, or Hornady Critical Duty/Critical Defense!
Hand Loads, I use Remington Golden Sabers running HOT! All Loads are 180 Gr and up!

So if 10mm gets shot in a glock the brass is scrap?
