Throwing a cast net takes lots of practice. I learned from guys who had no driveways because they left for work every morning from their dock. Somebody missed the class.

I learned to use a castnet from my Dad. He'd done it all his life, growing up on the Gulf Coast in a fishing family.

Ok, learned this yesterday, from an old TV Show... Was hard to believe... but I have some in the Store, and figured “Why not try it out, and see...”. So I goes down to the Store, and find the “Junk Food” section, and search out a bag of “Chettoes“... Now you all are wondering, “What is Old Fart SnowMonkey BTPost going to do with Chettoes?”. Well it turns out that Chettoes make an Excellent Fire Starter even in the Cold & Wet ... Light up one of the Orange chunks, and it will burn hot and strong for about 3 minutes... Way long enough to get even wet kindling burning ... I kid you not... I tried it out, in my wood stove this afternoon... Sure enough, works like a charm... Now I can have a High Calorie, snack, and FireStarter, In one little bag... This is NO BS, Try it out youself... beats CharCloth and most other materials...

This was an accidental discovery. I was trying to get some dead bugs unstuck from the bottom of a frosted porch light globe. I figured the Lime Away would get them loose. It not only got the bugs loose, it removed the frosted finish from every bit of globe it touched.

Where is this useful besides un-frosting glass? Well, there are things that folks might like to remove besides frosted glass. How about the Made in China label on a Coleman lantern globe?

My previous technique was to use a polishing wheel and great care not to overheat the glass in one spot. This process was messy and took about 40 minutes.

I was convinced that no chemical could touch this marking. HA! Lime Away on a Qtip and the whole top line that read "Made in China for" rubbed off in four minutes. The packing tape effectively protected the rest of the label.

    Better living through chemistry.

I had an overflowing aluminum can box before I figured out this trick. IMG_20191015_234818. Now I can fill the bag up. At $0.32 a pound it's still worth the effort.

Want to perfectly align clear tape on clear glass?

Darken the edge of the tape with a sharpie as you pull it off the roll. Now you can see the edge.

Without it, you just make your best guess and slap the tape on.

Now, if you get one of these, the recycle trips will be less frequent.
    16 Oz. Can Crusher

Might even have enough weight to pay for the gas getting to the center. Another question would be whether there is a deposit and whether it is counted by machine or hand ----

No deposit here. I like the can crusher idea. Could mount it right next to the beer fridge. ;)

I worked with a fabricator that made a square press adapter for our 30 ton electric press. It would compress cans in it until they were a solid block that was almost too heavy to handle. When it was full he'd remove the base and press the block out. Recycler didn't believe they were cans.

Google can crusher. More flavors than Baskin Robbins, I think.
