Sorry I am not prepared to save the world, just my little chunk of it.

I'm being neighborly by checking on the elderly retirees nearby, and seeing if they need anything when I run in town.
    That is it.
No one knows what my stash consists of, nor where it's all located ex the wife. And she isn't aware of some aspects - like the 6 months of Mountain House in nitrogen filled buckets under the house, or the 8 cases of 5.56 green tip sitting nearby, nor the 5 finished 80% lowers, with build kits and pre-zero'ed uppers, in that nasty looking milsurp pelican case, covered in dust and straw in one of the outbuildings. That and other info is only in a sealed envelope in the fire safe along with the other "he's dead" docs.

Nobody knows, so nobody asks. OPSEC has been in place long enough that there's no one thinking I might be under or over prepared. In fact, two friends have asked how I am doing or needed anything, and were glad to hear all is well here. There are some good folks out there.

what I'm loving is the "overnite preppers" coming over from other section of a huge forum site like Reddit >>>> demanding donation crap like this from dedicated preppers - like we should be taking advice from some fucking gamer gomer that didn't even know prepping was 2 months ago - or was ridiculing it !!!!!

You know these Cajuns have always banded together during rough times and make a feast out of if, Having to cook and eat the unusual doesn't hurt things.

Gator, I have never noticed a Cajun consider anything on earth "unusual" to eat.

You know I'm thinking there is an open air market in Delcambre today where you buy shrimp strait off the boat...for cash..
Somewhere in the neighborhood of 3.50 a pound for the Jumbos !

Count me in that same vein...ain't going to happen.
If we can scrimp and scrounge to have things during rough times, there is no excuse why they couldn't as well.

I might give some masks to my SIL who is an NP for her personal use to save her, as she might help save us at some point, but beyond that... ain’t happenin.

One can be neighborly, without sharing one's preps.

I've had more conversations with neighbors than pre-Covid. We've checked in with ALL the elderly neighbors numerous times to make sure they have the necessary supplies or need help with shopping for supplies.

I helped out one neighbor with some disinfectant cleaning supplies, when it was in short supply. Once these were in the supply chain again, they returned the favor.

I've helped a few neighbors with a few basic dust mask, not N-95 or P-100 though. Told them well these are better than the recommended cloth face coverings. Don't have enough adequate respiratory protection to save the world, outside my family circle.

I guess I’m the “Go To Guy” with my neighbors. Trees, landscaping, water line repair and of course etc etc. Also security although it’s a wink wink type of thing. They give me free things in return. To add to the collection. Nice group of people in all shapes and colors. I can’t lie. I sort of like the label. :D

Yup likewise, being the neighborhood plumber and backyard mechanic. Hard to hide from this when there's a plumbing van in the driveway. Nor can they help but hear me banging on metal repairing vehicles or see me doing ALL my own remodeling.

I get asked a lot of questions.
