Didn't we see this before ? The likable texas republican that spouts off feel good things and rolls up his sleeves just like one of the boys. I guess if that image worked for bush they figure it will work again eh ? Lets look at the record.... Texas raped us in power generation ENRON. Texas raped us in gas prices MOBIL, TEXACO heck all the big oils are out of Texas. Cheney's old company Haliburton is raping us in no bid contracts in Afganistan and Iraq.

Now another Texan republican is using the same "Aw shucks" routine and its working again ?? !!!! I guess you really can fool some of the people all of the time.

When are you people going to quit falling for the "Aw shucks" routine? Stop voting for texas republicans for christ's sake. We can't take another round of rapeing.

Vote libertarian, vote independent, hell vote for your favorite pet dog. Just don't vote for another Texas republican.

I could see voteing Libretarian....they intend to send their votes to the Republicans if Ron Paul is nominated and if not then to nominate him as their candidate.

One BIG difference to let us know not to expect the same from him is the fact he has a LONG voteing record that is public record and verifies that he walks it like he talks it and actualy backs what he says he backs.

Besides while he has proven he is FOR the people and For the constitution, the other candidates openly disdain the constitution and sneer everytime he mentions adhearing to it, showing that they have a similar view to that of the Shrub that it is 'just a goddamn piece of paper'. Its Ron Paul or bend over and just beg for some vasoline...which we wont get.

    Hartage........ get serious, bro.

You're willing to say that everyone that would represent Texas is bad because of those things? You can't honestly believe that.

And I AM a Libertarian, that's why I'm backing Ron Paul... he's the closest thing by far to a Libertarian candidate we've got, and I don't believe you can seriously call his campaign an "aw shucks" routine, it's more like a "makes sense" routine. He once ran on a Libertarian ticket.

Go to this thread and read.... you'll find that RP is in line with most of your beliefs if you really are a Libertarian. http://www.survivalmonkey.com/forum/showthread.php?t=5308

If you actually want to see something change in this country and want to take power away from the "raping oil companies".... Ron Paul is your ONLY hope to do so in this election.

I understand where your coming from... I hate the Republicans too, but put it aside for a minute and find out who the Real Ron Paul is.

I don't mean this to be condescending but if you believe in the " big oil boogey man" fairy tale then you will fall for the anti-Ron Paul rants and smears also.
There is a wealth of knowledge to be found here on our site. And knowledge is the best shield we have against the media manipulation and propaganda machine.

Me too, as a matter of fact, if he gets the Repblican nomination it will be the first time that I will ever have voted for any party other than Libertarian.

    Hartage;

You really need to get your facts straight.

Get my facts straight ? I know jack squat about ron paul beyond he is a freaking texan and a republican. I don't hide that. Unfortunately both words leave a foul taste in my mouth after the last 8 years. When you hear a whistle then get slapped enough times all it takes is a whistle to get you mad. Funny thing is I USED to be republican.

I make no bones about how little I know about ron paul. He would have stood a much better chance of getting my vote under ANY other party. That he chose to call himself republican makes him suspect. I'm hearing that whistle.... not gonna wait around for the slap.

I understand the bad taste left in our mouths from these "conservative republicans". Of which I considered myself one for years. I respect your admission to not really knowing much about Ron Paul. I didn't either until I started researching him. The entire republican party has been fighting him and doing everything they can to torpedo his campaigns (for pres and congress) for years. That should tell you something.
The way I see it it isn't about Repubs or Dems, Libs or anything else. It boils down to who is owned by the NWO and the globalists, including all big business and corparate America, and who is willing to stand up to them.
Ron Paul has proven beyond any doubt that he is not owned by anyone. He is a patriotic American who votes his conscience not a corparate or lobbyist agenda.
There is not one prostitician out there, repub or dem, that can make that claim.
Ron Paul is our first,ONLY, and probably last, hope to restore this nation to the way it was intended to be.

You seem very passionate in your concern for our great nation and I would urge you to spit out the bile left from this last so called "texan", born in the north, so called "republican", and give RP an unbiased look. I think that you will be very surprised at what you find. He is not politics as usual. And he is the Repub establishments worst nightmare.
We need people of passion to join this revolution and help to overturn the status quo in American politics, and RP is the man who could and would do that.

As a Texan, I am offended by that. Having said that, more and more people are going indepenent to vote. I always thought Ron should have ran as an independent. But then people would of said " it's one of those Libertarians again". Dr. Paul believes in the Republic regulated by the Constitution, not a democracy. I agree with the libertarian view of "let people live, as long as they do not encroach on other peoples rights. BUSH AIN'T NO TEXAN, he just used all his daddy's freinds down here to win. His grand dad Prescott Bush helped finance Hitler's war machine. Ron Paul is a true blue Republic protecting Texan. Get to know Ron Paul, then you know a TEXAN. If you want truth, you have to really search for these days, fellow Americans.

Sorry, but bull pucky. You have no right as a texan to think bush is not a texan. Why ? A majority of texans voted for bush. TEXAS considers bush a texan. On the same coin you can't even be offended by the rest of the country considering texans and republicans bad considering what has happend past 8 years. Don't blame us victims for thinking texans are bad. Blame the texans doing bad things that gave texans a bad name.

This page correlates a state's average IQ from top to bottom to which candidate held the majority during 2004 elections. Draw your own conclusions. http://www.mobile31.com/iqbush/

"This data has been published in the Economist and the St. Petersburg Times, though this does not mean it should be taken as fact. "

You should read the fine print. [own2]Trust me I'm no Bush supporter or fan, I didn't vote for him either time. That said I do like to base my arguments on varrifiable facts. To judge a whole state on one family is ignorant IMHO. RP has a long voting recourd that is right in line with the Consitution. Like I said before you need to check your facts. [troll]

Now you are assuming it is false. It is a published report. For you to assume something is false then consider someone "owned" for saying come to your own conclusions is what ? Smart ?

There are other studies showing a correlation between education and bush support. Here is another http://www.ginandtacos.com/education.jpg

Would you consider the census to be a reliable source ? I mean it is just a damned survey right ? That can't be fact now can it ?

No, I don't consider the census very accurate, therefore it cannot be thought reliable, except statistically. That said, there are a lot of unconfirmed estimates of illegals in this country that somehow make the social services continuously underfunded. How can that be if the numbers are accurate?

    Wow.

Perhaps this thread should be moved to the Tin Foil Hat Lounge.
On second thought, that forum is for discussing conspiratorial THEORIES. Not outright lies.

Do you really believe the average person in Connecticut has an IQ 28 points higher than the Mississippi average? That's two standard deviations. That would mean roughly 3% of people in Mississippi would even rate as average in Connecticut.
For an actual published, peer reviewed, referenced, study on average IQ's by state, see:

Agree. If nothing else, Hartage has provoked discussion. As long as it is kept civil, no problems can come of it. Let's not disparage an unpopular (even here on our admittedly statistically small and biased site) view by rising to bait that can't be refuted rationally.

I neither accuse people of trolling, nor care if anyone does. But there's a point where a claim is so impossibly, demonstrably, false, that he needs to be called on it.

This thread was started purely to bash Dr. Paul, by someone who admits knowing nothing about him. Under the same circumstances, I would have even been tempted to defend Hillary Clinton.
I'm not sure what there is to say in her defense, but that's another subject.
