    My first thought as well. IMO it's likely there will be more to desensitize us. China still profits from the American consumer so we are not in an immediate threat. If we dump China Joe and get a real President that will treat them like the threat they are then it becomes a more likely scenario.

    80,000 feet up is about 15 miles, actually a bit low for an EMP unless you wanted a very limited outage area. I’ve heard that 200 miles would cover the entire US

    I have been playing with this map for hours. Pretty entertaining, and informative.
    The map is an embedded link about 1/3 of the way down the article.
    You drag the marker anywhere you want. Or type in a city. Select the yield, size of warhead, and whether a surface or air burst. Then hit "DETONATE". It shows the blast radius and effects.
