    My favorite part of vacation was definitely coming home!
    I'm going to take the rest of the week off from planned workouts and will probably spend most of the time doing damage control in the gardens.
    On Monday I plan on strength training again!

    I’ve done 5 cold dunks now. My hip is about 80 percent better thank God!

    Zimmy Wait, I'm not ready!

    In the sauna for 15, then sea for 5. Repeat 3x. I finished with the sauna to Kickstart life returning.

    I felt amazing.

    I did my first run in a week after resting my hip and 6 ice baths. It felt pretty good thank God. My tournament is less than one month away now and I feel pretty good. Yippee!!

    It's so good that you're feeling better and can run again. Injuries like that are so scary. I bet you'll be fully healed and recovered for your tournament.

    I'm enjoying rest day and am getting the garden back into shape. They sold us weedy soil and it's scary how much the weeds took over in under 20 days. Thank goodness we came back!

    I get a bunch of ice from my workplace’s ice machine. (With permission of course) I run cold water in the tub with no ice, even getting in that is painful. I add the rest of it over 5 minutes or so and try to stay it 20 minutes. Success!

    I went for an hour long walk this morning and I decided that I'm going to start the 10 week program that I was working on before from the beginning. Before we left, I had just finished week #7/10.
    10 weeks will bring me right up to my birthday. I think it's a good plan for the summer. Hope you will all have a wonderful week!

    Yesterday was leg day (it worked because I'm sore today.)
    Today is going to be a total body workout (including dips and pull-up attempts.) Wish me luck!

    I’m planning on hiking a bit Friday and Saturday at the North Cascades. My legs are in good shape as long as that little spot on my hip cooperates. Stay tuned.

    Zimmy Wait, I'm not ready!

    I jogged on my morning 5k. I hadn't done that in 25 years.

    I didn't jog the whole way, but when I staggered into the driveway, legs burning and chest screaming....my grin was a wide as Texas.

    I felt really strong during my total body workout until I got to the sit-ups... Apparently, my leg workout was so effective that I felt sore just sitting. It's been awhile since I've worked out that hard.

    Today I feel tired and have been procrastinating all day long... After reading your posts, I feel motivated to get my shoulder workout done before dinner. Have a great night, everyone!

    I took 2 rest days this week. Yesterday and today. I think I'm still recovering from being sick and I'm feeling a lot better.

    The extra rest day paid off and I think I got my motivation back (it could be the coffee talking, but who am I to argue?:coffee:)!
    It is now week #2 / 10 and I'm going to do a total body workout in a few minutes.

    Before I left for the surprise vacation, I was fluctuating steadily around 128-129 lbs. On the plane ride to New Zealand, we were seated next to people who were super sick and got really sick the entire time. We could've stayed indefinitely and even got the business visa approved, but NZ has changed a lot in the last decade and it feels like a completely different place. I'm sad that it lost so much of its charm. The land and place itself is as gorgeous as ever, but the people and culture has changed because so many of the Kiwis left for Australia, USA, the UK, and Europe and there was a mass influx of immigrants that have moved in. I'm not saying that's a bad thing... But violent crime has gone up 582% (staggering) since 2017. Petty theft and burglary are one thing, but when the crimes are rape and murder, then it becomes a dangerous place.

    The grass IS greener and we gained so much valuable perspective and insights with this trip. The second that we were feeling better we flew back first class.

    My favorite part of vacation was coming home!

    When I came back I was 121.2 lbs which was shocking because I would expect to gain weight on vacation, but being sick will do that. Of course now I'm 126 lbs and still want to lose 10-20 lbs.
