Bondi Beach: Hero 'did not hesitate', family tells BBC, as Albanese says gunmen motivated by extremism I heard about the shooting yesterday afternoon, props to the guy that did confronted one of the shooters, we nee more men like him! This attack has me thinking, which is usually not a good thing. With the upcoming Christmas holiday, are there more attacks planed? I don't do larger groups, I've never liked being in a crowd, just not my thing. Just a reminder to everyone to keep your head on a swivel, know your exits and have a plan. I would like to think that the shooting in Sydney would have been different with an armed population, but generally areas where lots of people gather are going to be "gun free zones", which just means a "target rich environment". Stay safe out there!
Yeah, best to stay away from large public events like parades, pageants, Christmas Tree lightings (aka tree lightings), there are just too many wackos out there. Even if you can carry a gun legally, the dangers are too great, too many things could go tragically wrong and you could end up dead, jailed and/or sued. And don't trust the police to protect you, there was a police station a block from the shooting at Bondi Beach in Australia, but the shooting went on for 30 minutes. My small-town police don't have the manpower, equipment, training, etc. to secure an event of any size, and the only reason that we haven't ended up on national news is shear dumb luck.
When I first watched some clips of that shooting, I thought it was a third world country because people weren't even speaking English. Took me a while to figure out it was Oz territory. What a crazy world. Stay frosty. The punchline is touching.
Well, it appears their Prime Minister is going to strengthen their gun laws now...like a lot of good that will do. All 'Gun Free Zones' do is make they bring extra mags. ridiculous...and sad.
