It seems to me mankind is now reaping the rotten fruits of it arrogance and abuse towards nature and the natural world. http://articles.mercola.com/sites/articles/archive/2008/05/01/why-are-bats-dying.aspx?source=nl
Last spring was very silent around the flowers of my neighbors cherry tree. This year things have increased at least 100% so I am encouraged that some of the hives have weathered the "virus". Last summer, local honey was running $15-20 for a quart jar and the hives were hard hit. Mule
Even thought the WI bee keepers are still saying that the hives are still collapsing I have noticed a lot more bees around here as well.
I haven't seen a single honeybee anywhere in my yard this year and I have lots of flowering fruit trees.
No more death from above for me...thank goodness. Though it is sad to learn of the disappearing bees, and I do understand the importance of those menacing creatures, to me, it is very joyous. Those damn things can kill me if I get stung. Highly allergic and a professional dancer to the "shoo bee get away from me" polka.
