Sears 72215 dated 2/71 lit as found, good pump leather, old silk-lite mantle and a tank full of regular unleaded gasoline. This caused wild flare-ups when the valve was fully opened, but after five minutes the generator was hot enough to run on the higher octane fuel without a flicker.

Lenk automatic alcohol blotorch That's the official name. It may be my new favorite to preheat Quick lite generators. Has zero tolerance for breezes.

Post It note packing

Experimental, and not entirely unsuccessful generator packing. This is a 1x2 3/4 inch piece of copy paper that was rolled tightly around a generator spring as a filter. It is absorbent, and works as well as the original filter in Rusty, the test lantern. 220E transition model. 1/63.
