My mom used to be a monitor tech on a heart unit and they had 9 volt batteries for the monitors that were just like any other 9 volt but they came in sealed foil packages and were air activated. It made it so they coul be stored for ever in their sealed packages and wouldnt go dead then worked like any other after the package was opened.

I was just wondering if anyone knew where you could get batteries like that and if they made them in all the sizes. I would figure that some of those could be great to store for emergencies as well as maybe to cache with walkie talkies or some such.

I've never heard of them. I'll have to ask my sister, she's a pathology tech at a local hospital - maybe they use them?

Yeah I know the ones they used there were black plastic shells with holes in the side and came in pouches of lined mylar or some such. I THINK Energizer made them but dont know if you can get them outside the medical field or if they come in other sizes and such.
