I'm looking for a HF tranceiver in decent shape, doesn't have to be perfect. I'm taking my general test soon and would like a good starter radio for the HF bands. Thank you!
Have a squint at the QST classifieds, sometimes there's a gem. Also, your local ham club will have some guys that have unused rigs in their shacks that they would be willing to part with, and you know the seller --
We had a thread a year and half to two years ago where BT made some good recommendations for used HF rigs of his favorite flavor (Kenwood). I'd find the post I'm thinking about but it might be good reading to search for it yourself... Search on Kenwood with posts authored by BTPost. A couple dozen should come up. I have a tendency towards Yaesu but for no good reason, just what I got started with. Icom, Kenwood and Yaesu are all good, some individual models better than others but collectively all good. AT
Thank you guys for pointing me in the right direction. I'm really trying to learn and prepare myself and family for whatever the future may hold.
