Has anybody thought about adding fireworks to their supply list? Smoke bombs and the heavy duty firecrackers? Maybe they can be useful.

Why buy some Chinese made garbage when making your own is so much more FUN!

    Yankeeprepper's channel is top notch.

And I agree, Dusty. Fireworks, smokes, even firecrackers can come in quite handy, if not for diversions, for other means.

Ideas like this can become a poor man's force-multiplier.

yes, I have sparklers in the truck. Many uses. Signal, Fire starter for damp material, diversion for the kids.

If you want some early warning signals get those pull apart popper things.

Set a few canisters of tannerite out near your perimeter, cammo'd from one side, but exposed on your (shooters) side, let a few rip and the invaders will think they are walking into a very bad situation. Additionally, you can pre-set your sites, practice, practice, practice. It becomes almost routine, then you can blast a few off without thinking, laying cover and explosions simultaneous. Would scare the crap out of untrained individuals.

Nice example of what 1 pound tannerite targets explode like:

Now imagine your invader is standing near the canister:

We had a zombie shoot at the club this past summer. Each shooter had a half pound to set off (roughly 75 yards) before proceeding to the next stage. Drew in a couple gawkers after the first few went up. Noisy addition to the festivities.

Could certainly be an advantage. It could also save a lot of regular ammo.

=) Scare the poo out of invaders as well, perhaps take out one or two at a go. The concussion alone is significant. Large amounts have been used to explode larger objects like...beaver dams, vehicles, you get the picture. Yankee Prepper has a tutorial for making homemade tannerite too!

We could use that link. Had to buy the components for the shoot.

Yes, memsahib, here is the link:

Tannerite is perfectly legal. Make sure you keep less than 50# of it made on your premisis. If you are a black powder shooter as well, tannerite adds to the legal limit of black powder you may keep on-site (50# for personal use) Here is a link for thermite as well:

THERMITE is perfectly legal and used to field weld large pieces of steel in the field.

Am I understanding this right? From your post Falcon15, it sounds like Tannerite can be used as a substitute for BP. If that is so, what would be the ratio for usage, how much Tannerite = BP, say per gram or once for loading purposes?

No. No. No. To clartify: The Federal Goobermint classifies Tannerite as black powder. The BP quantity you can have on premisis at any one time is 50# for personal use. So if you have 25# of mixed tannerite on hand and a 25# keg of BP you are at your Federal legal limit. Tannerite requires a high speed projectile to cause it to explode.

I guess I didn't make myself clear either. What I was wondering was if Tannerite could be used in a BP rifle as a substitute for BP. If so, say you are normally using a 60 grain load for a 50 Cal rifle firing a 180 grain ball, what I was wondering was how much tannerite you would use as a substitute for BP on a per grain basis. Hope I made that clear.

it cannot be used as a replacement for BP... it will notbe set off by a primer or cap... it needs a shock to set it off... i don't reccomment trying it...

Now that is really too bad. I thought I had a handy and cheaper method of making my old Fire Stick go boom. BP, Pyrodex, Black Mag’3 and Hodgdon Pyrodex® and Triple Seven seem to keep going up in price every time I turn around. Oh well, can't blame a guy for wishing. Thanks for the info.
