For cleaning up water and preventing algae buildup. Throw in a penny or two, or a small piece of copper pipe. Don't go overboard with this. I have heard of it harming sheep. I remember silver coins being put in water containers. tell me your knowledge on this.
In the olden days they put their silver ware in the water or even milk to keep it for spoiling. I make colloidal silver and am quite familiar. with it's antimicrobial qualities. As for and zinc I have little expirence using it but they have a similar reputation. I use zinc supplements for dealing with colds and such. Copper not so much but i'm willing to learn.
