In my last couple years of drinking coffee, I too had switched to honey. (y)

I mostly just drink it black,,if available,, a dash of milk or cream,, occasionally a dab of sugar,, I have used honey as well.

On the mention of honey ,, they say honey never goes bad,, but will crystallize. And I've placed the bottle of crystallized honey in hot water to return it to liquid state ,, but it will always crystallize back quicker than normal,, is this normal,, or is there a meaning behind this ??
Been wondering about this for a while,, just never asked anyone about it .

The faster the honey crystallizes, the purer the honey. If it takes a long time or doesn't even crystallize, it's mixed with corn syrup.

That's cool, but remember Stevia is natural and so is erythritol, which your body produces on its own. Sometimes the reports or findings people discuss are funded by groups associated with corporations who profit from keeping people sick and addicted to sugar and carbs. I mean, even a bag of Stevia has mostly maltodextrin in it, which spikes insulin quite a lot. Erythritol is not harmful. It is synthesized from corn using enzymes and fermentation and it is calorie free.

Hey, I used to think that natural, unprocessed demerara sugar and honey were the best thing ever. But all sugar is still sugar at the end of the day.

At home I use a percolator, in the bush it depends but if I have to cater to more than myself I have a very large (makes a litre) press. Alone I have a collapsible silicone pour-over thing that work well for me (now I have the amount of coffee for my mug worked out).

I also keep a jar of this in my tuckerbox for when I am particularly lazy...

    Zimmy Wait, I'm not ready!

At home I drink Chock full of nuts or community coffee black from a drip maker.

Camping coffee is the Vietnamese 3 in 1 instant packs.

Nobody else puts an eggshell or pinch of salt in their cowboy coffee process?

For camping I like the Starbucks instant coffee. No waiting around. Just heat some water.
At home we mostly use a coffee machine ready to go at the punch of a button with some decent coffee in it.
For 30 years I made cowboy coffee at home after spending time chasing cows on my Dad's outfit.
When it comes to coffee, context is everything. Nothing like a cup of joe sitting in the woods at first light with my trusty Border Collie in a comfortable camp chair.

    Doesn't everybody?
Pinch of Salt, Pinch of Black Pepper, and two eggshells broken up just a little bit!
For Elk Camp, brace a couple shots of Irish Cream and enjoy!

Pinch of salt was often necessary in the burnt coffee that was left on the burner in the break room at work.

Back in the early 80s I used to carpool with a co-worker. We'd switch driving every other week. One morning it was my turn to drive and I got to his place a little early, he wasn't quite ready to leave.

So he offered me a cup of instant coffee made with water that he'd boiled in a tea kettle while I waited the few minutes for him to finish up.

I was drinking the coffee as I was talking to him, and when I got down to the last 1/4" or so I noticed a shadowy shape of something solid in the bottom of my cup. A closer look revealed the shape was that of a 2 1/2" long cockroach. Yes, this is a true story.

Haven't had a cup of instant coffee since. At least with electric drip any bugs get caught in the filter if they weren't in the glass carafe where you could see them before you began the brew.

When I was in high school in the early 1970s, I was on a trip to a Civil Air Patrol encampment near Naples, Fl, several hundred miles south of my Tallahassee, Fl home. We stopped at a Waffle House down there in South Florida. I had a cup of coffee with my breakfast. As I finished the cup, in the bottom was a burnt match.
That put me off restaurant coffee (and Waffle Houses) for many years.

Many moons ago ,, I worked as a dishwasher in a Chinese restaurant. They had 3-4 of them tall heated tea'coffee pots ,, the ones with the glass tube on top of the spigot. In one of them tube's,, was a roach floating in the tube. I know it was in there for at least 2 weeks,,

I wonder how may parts of it broke off into the customers' coffee as it deteriorated in the space of two weeks.

I guess at least it was fairly well parboiled by then.

Last time I ate at a Chinese restaurant was back in mid-March. Landed in the hospital for three days with an intestinal blockage. Fortunately they were finally able to clear it with a potent laxative so I didn't need surgery.

Haven eaten at one of those restaurants since then, either.

On my US Navy ship in the early 1980s, my Electronic Tech shop had a huge aluminum 80-cup electric coffee pot. They rarely threw the old grounds out, just tossed more in. "US Navy Mk.1 Mod 0 coffee" we called it. To say it was strong is putting it mildly. One shipmate swore it could dissolve a styrofoam cup. We made three pots a day. 14 guys (ETs and EWs in my shop), and the Sonar Techs a deck above and the officers in Officer Country down the after passageway all came in for coffee. They liked it better than that on the mess deck and wardroom. Even the Captain popped in frequently.
The pot was utterly black and cruddy inside! I once took it upon myself to clean the pot. Oh buddy! You'd think I'd murdered the Captain's dog. I thought my Seniorchief was gonna keelhaul me! He thundered that I "ruined the flavor" of our shop coffee! Took me awhile to live down that shame. I learned, you DO NOT mess with a sailor's coffee! Seniorchief's white porcelain coffee cup was of course black & crusty inside.
Once when we were offloading our weapons at Earle, NJ prior to enterring drydock, late 1983, nearly every man aboard got sick from bad shore water pumped aboard. Except us few who only drank the coffee. That stuff killed whatever nasty bug was in the water! U. S. Navy coffee, keeping sailors alive and working for over two centuries! :D
