That's the thing I don't get. If I were a politician and was the focus of the outrage shown on January 6th, I'd pretty much be behaving, not rubbing salt in it. It was proven that the general population could (and did) get into their chambers and could have just as easily dragged their butts into the streets for vigilante style justice. They should be considering themselves lucky that wasn't the outcome, and yet they want to keep picking at the scab, forming committees and calling for the imprisonment of those involved. There are a lot of people I know that are still highly pissed off about the whole thing and all they are doing is stoking the flame. I know much of it was staged because of the initial videos showing some guy in a suit and a uniformed police officer letting them in a few doors, but I think it got out of hand. These people truly have come to believe themselves to be untouchable and above the law.
I think they are rubbing salt in the wound because they want a certain outcome, and they think that is a sure way to get it. DW
