I have a Savage Mod. 111 Cal. 30-06 SPRG. ? can I shoot 30-06 150 grain FMJ ammo in this gun? 1970's production, "KA" headstamped. If I can, what are the pro's and con's on this ammo. Just looking for something cheap to shoot but don't want to hurt my gun. Thanks for any info.
won't hurt a thing. The 06 is about as versatile a cartridge as ever was made. I shoot old WW ll surplus military ammo out of mine; not always the best thing for driving tacks but makes a bang and generally hits somewhere close enough to scare the target to death.
