Since most of my engines are straight shafted, might as well. They're on clearance. I can over drove the generator and run the engine at say 1,600 to 3,200rpm making anywhere from 40 to 60hz. Or 1:1 drive it, or if I need absolute power fuel economy be damned, under drive the generator and run the engine at say 4,000rpm.
Yep with right gear, sprocket or pulley ratio can get the same RPM at the head with 1000 RPM at the engine as running direct at high RPM. Saves a ton of high RPM Wear and tear and fuel.
good deal , I'd buy one ,but they don't send to Canukland . I have a diesel , 1800 rpm unit and a huge shop. Next trip south is ???? Need a reason .. Sloth
So true , I should , Stop in and meet Yard dart plus a few others . Lady Friend I tried to meet up (she has wheels if I fly/ or when down hasn't worked) I can set down at any smaller airdrome , but now walking . Bike trip is fun as well , might do that , way cheaper on fuel and TX stuff. I'LL ask the girls at the ranch if I can get a week off.. Harvest starts in August.
