I heard the A17 ammo is several hundred FPS faster and that is needed for proper feeding its said that the normal cci and hornday have issues feeding thats just what I heard. I have a Bolt Action 17 HMR. And that A17 Ammo is sky high expensive in MHO.
Had no issues with the Savage bolt gun I shot. Took 4 badgers and a yote with it. Haven't seen the semi auto.
Regardless of the price of ammo the tactical ability to reach targets at significant distance doing head shots with out damaging important meat one is hunting, makes this gun the most appropriate tool for getting small game bar none. IMO There are other 17s being offered and only slightly more powerful, but I don't think any more accurate . I'd rather have the Savage for a number of reasons ,but for the time being I have a marlin bolt action, that serves me just fine .
