They're baaaack! Really late to arrive at the house, although I did see a small flock of Martins in the area on April first. Judging from their behavior I got the feeling that the trees may have finally gotten too close for their liking. This year the first one spotted in the house was almost a month later than their 26 March arrival last year.

We heard their chatter yesterday and I spotted one male coming out of an upstairs apartment just as the sun was setting last night. :)

If there are no eggs in the nest yet I'll see if I can move the box a couple yards away from the trees this weekend while the birds are out feeding. This will be the third move away from the expanding live oak tree that wasn't even there when the house was first moved in.
