Ya , Pussy's !!! Our MYLA has dropped a few & brought them back to mom for cleaning , kinda like the rabbits . I know they were a house pet & were out killing birds , so they are put in the animal grave area. Coons are shot & put in the same area. Rabbits /deer are puppy food . Last Cat I saw 3 weeks ago was a tom feral , the dog barked twice & had it quicker than I could draw . Not a chance !! Dog has a JOB & that's why she feels she fit's right in , She has a job & is very good at it. Not one Bear ,Mountain Lion ,all the way down to pussy cats.
She came (5 houses later) & has been trained to do a JOB , Rules are set in place , and always we have work & then Time off is play !! 3 years now , she is controlled by hand signals or voice & a finger . Smart as a whip, this time , when she becomes time to retire , I will bring in another pup & let here also help train . Our last Pup was 17 before I had to put him down , he also worked till 12 , but then He had a great retirement package !!!so for 5 years we were semi open .. The hunting part is not in the training , I would not take her hunting . For Hunting I take a Lab called Luther , another great dog .
The ONLY REASON the Dogs in all those pictures don't have a dead Cat in there bite'r is because Momma would beat that dog with in an inch of it's life for killing said cat. The Cats get away with just about every thing, because the Dog had to learn not to kill the cat or else!!!

Yep, they keep the rodents under control. Since I don't have meeses, I don't need a cat. Besides, there are a couple feral cats that patrol the ranch.
My dogs were a bit confused seeing that I did not allow them to chase the chickens or rabbits or squirrels , this however back fired when we got rats in the house and the dogs refused to go after them. Sorry dad your on your own.
Our Myla has outed Mice & Voles , Will play it to death , Rats are a different thing & she knows, will stare at it & call us via a yip bark . She don't like them in here mouth as I can see . bird / rat shot or the rat trap & she knows them as well to stay clear of those traps. A few farms away they used poison & we had dogs , critters dying all over . I will never use poison around farms . Cruel , seeing my neighbours dogs dying in the ditches .Our ranch is fenced in & out ,In for dog , us & our farm critters, then out to the ranch lands, in-between is our wild life areas so they may pass to reach the sea or mountains , respect both ways as I have seen .. I think i have discovered the best repellant to rats ,Onions . In the garden the squirrels and rats have finally left it alone. Some rats got in the in the house and I had been using traps of every sort available and they got smart and avoid the traps .But when I brought some of those Onions in the house the rats began leaving and are about all gone far as I can tell.
