Well actually Juneau Ak, is really a Borough, with a City inside.... and they are asking the Boundary Commission to annex another 15% of their size.....
I fell really LUCKY, that back in the 50's, my little chunk of Alaska, was annexed into the Haines Borough, even though Haines, AK is 250 miles north of here. If I was in the Juneau Borough, I would have to put up with Zoning, Building, and all the BS Codes... Haines has no such Regulations, outside the City itself. Whew, lucked out on that one..... and I couldn't afford the Property Taxes that Juneau, requires.... Haines is much more reasonable. ..... YMMV....
