Monkies, please read the following. I have never liked large crowds since being involved with nuke weapons security in the service. this reinforces that fear of making yourself "a target"!

Something good to know for the families in the US & Canada in case of terrorists attacks.

    _______________________________________________________
Juval Aviv was the Israeli Agent upon whom the movie ' Munich ' was based. He was Golda Meir's bodyguard. She appointed him to track down and bring to justice the Palestinian terrorists who took the Israeli athletes hostage and killed them during the Munich Olympic Games.

In a lecture in New York City a few weeks ago, Aviv shared information that EVERY American needs to know----but that our government has not yet shared with us.

Aviv predicted the London subway bombing on the Bill O'Reilly show on Fox News stating publicly that it would happen within a week. At the time, O'Reilly laughed and mocked him saying that in a week he wanted Aviv back on the show. But, unfortunately, within a week the terrorist attack had occurred.

Juval Aviv gave intelligence (via what he had gathered in Israel and the Middle East ) to the Bush Administration about 9/11 a month before it occurred. His report specifically said that they would use planes as bombs and target high profile buildings and monuments. Congress has since hired him as a security consultant.

Now for Aviv's future predictions: He predicts the next terrorist attack on the U.S. will occur within the next few months.

Forget hijacking airplanes, because he says terrorists will NEVER try hijacking a plane again as they know the people onboard will never go down quietly again. Aviv believes our airport security is a joke--that we have been reactionary rather than proactive in developing strategies that are truly effective.

    For example:

    1) Our airport technology is outdated. We look for metal, and the new explosives are made of plastic.

    2) He talked about how some idiot tried to light his shoe on fire. Because of that, now everyone has to take off their shoes. A group of idiots tried to bring aboard liquid explosives. Now we can't bring liquids on board. He says he's waiting for some suicidal maniac to pour liquid explosive on his underwear; at which point, security will have us all traveling naked! Every strategy we have is reactionary.

    3) We only focus on security when people are heading to the gates.

Aviv says that if a terrorist attack targets airports in the future, they will target busy times on the front end of the airport when/where people are checking in. It would be easy for someone to take two suitcases of explosives, walk up to a busy check-in line, ask a person next to them to watch their bags for a minute while they run to the restroom or get a drink, and then detonate the bags BEFORE security even gets involved. In Israel , security checks bags BEFORE people can even ENTER the airport.
Aviv says the next terrorist attack here in America is imminent and will involve suicide bombers and non-suicide bombers in places where large groups of people congregate... (i.e., Disneyland, Las Vegas casinos, big cities (New York, San Francisco, Chicago, etc.) and that it will also include shopping malls, subways in rush hour, train stations, etc., as well as rural America this time (Wyoming, Montana, etc.).

The attack will be characterized by simultaneous detonations around the country (terrorists like a big impact), involving at least 5-8 cities, including rural areas.

Aviv says terrorists won't need to use suicide bombers in many of the larger cities, because at places like the MGM Grand in Las Vegas , they can simply valet park a car loaded with explosives and walk away.
Aviv says all of the above is well known in intelligence circles, but that our U.S. Government does not want to 'alarm American citizens' with the facts... The world is quickly going to become 'a different place', and issues like 'global warming' and political correctness will become totally irrelevant.

On an encouraging note, Aviv says that Americans don't have to be concerned about being nuked. He says the terrorists who want to destroy America will not use sophisticated weapons. They like to use suicide as a front-line approach. It's cheap, it's easy, it's effective; and they have an infinite abundance of young militants more than willing to 'meet their destiny'.

Aviv also says the next level of terrorists, over which America should be most concerned, will not be coming from abroad. But will be, instead, 'home grown'----that means having attended and been educated in our own schools and universities right here in the U.S. He says to look for 'students' who frequently travel back and forth to the Middle East . These young terrorists will be most dangerous because they will know our language and will fully understand the habits of Americans; but that we Americans won't know/understand a thing about them.

Aviv says that, as a people, Americans are unaware and uneducated about the terrorist threats we will, inevitably, face. America still has only a handful of Arabic and Farsi speaking people in our intelligence networks, and Aviv says it is critical that we change that fact SOON.

So, what can America do to protect itself? From an intelligence perspective, Aviv says the U.S. needs to stop relying on satellites and technology for its intelligence. We need to, instead, follow Israel 's, Ireland 's and England 's hands-on examples of human intelligence, both from an infiltration perspective as well as to trust 'aware' citizens to help. We need to engage and educate ourselves as citizens; however, our U.S. Government continues to treat us, its citizens, ‘like babies’. Our government thinks we 'can't handle the truth' and are concerned that we'll panic if we understand the realities of terrorism. Aviv says this is a deadly mistake...

Aviv recently created/executed a security test for our Congress, by placing an empty briefcase in five well-traveled spots in five major cities. The results? Not one person called 911 or sought a policeman to check it out. In fact, in Chicago , someone tried to steal the briefcase!

In comparison, Aviv says that citizens of Israel are so well 'trained' that an unattended bag or package would be reported in seconds by citizen(s) who know to publicly shout, 'Unattended Bag!' The area would be quickly & calmly cleared by the citizens themselves. But, unfortunately, America hasn't been 'hurt enough' yet by terrorism for their government to fully understand the need to educate its citizens or for the government to understand that it's their citizens who are, inevitably, the best first-line of defense against terrorism.

Aviv also was concerned about the high number of children here in America who were in preschool and kindergarten after 9/11, who were 'lost' without parents being able to pick them up, and about our schools that had no plan in place to best care for the students until parents could get there. (In New York City , this was days, in some cases!)

He stresses the importance of having a plan that's agreed upon within your family, to respond to in the event of a terrorist emergency. He urges parents to contact their children's schools and demand that the schools, too, develop plans of actions, as they do in Israel .

Does your family know what to do if you can't contact one another by phone? Where would you gather in an emergency? He says we should all have a plan that is easy enough for even our youngest children to remember and follow.

Aviv says that the U.S. Government has in force a plan that, in the event of another terrorist attack, will immediately cut-off EVERYONE's ability to use cell phones, blackberries, etc., as this is the preferred communication source used by terrorists and is often the way that their bombs are detonated.

How will you communicate with your loved ones in the event you cannot speak? You need to have a plan.

If you believe what you have just read, then you must feel compelled to send it to every concerned parent or guardian, grandparents, uncles, aunts, whatever and whomever. Nothing will happen if you choose not to do so, but in the event it does happen, this particular email will haunt you... "I should have sent this to.....", but I didn't believe it and just deleted it as so much trash from old Bill Jones!

Kinda wandering open ended rant for discussion
Pretty good primer e-mail for grandma and sleepy sheep.

Howmuch "security" are we willing to shoulder? There are somethings you just can't defend against. What's coming?100% control? When you board a plane they snap an explosive shape charge collar around your neck with the seat # on it? and as the plane is backed away from the gate the captain puts key in the console ,turns it, and pushes the "arm" button?,

Further splitting hairs fordiscussion ; I would submit the govt doesn't treat us like "babies..." the govt treats us like "enemies"or infected patients during a contagion.

What makes an airliner a target? large numbers of closely packed people who would be killed in a vey public spectacular cable-news worthy manner. What else meets this criteria?

    Large amusement parks
    televised sports events
    hearts of major cities
I submit "lower po'dunk" america is mostly vulnerable to fallout from events targetting the above and daily opressive unconstitutional govt...Bomb threats or inteligence in a major mid western city could engagethe "jack bauers" of the country to lockdown a region.
The threat is enough to disrupt our lives, with taser wielding jackboots searching for injection molded explosives.
    Incindiary hair, fatal halitosis.

The "work" has mostly been completed" walkup to the biggest guy in the yard , punch him in the nose" and gain instant respect for your cause. Terrorism like conventional war is politics by extreme dimensions,

I won't fly and I always enjoyed the actual flying time, its the ground activities and submissive cattle herding atmosphere I choose not to deal with. I would like to see the airlines survive for times flight is a necessity, but I personally wouldalso liketo see a resurgence of passenger rail and new ultrafast rail. I would be really safe belted into my bed at night at home in alocked bedroom with handpicked security inthe haway and on the grounds. Screw that.

Thanks for posting that Tac. I'll pass it on.

T3, that's the other part of the problem. If another terrorist attack happens the US government will have exactly the wrong response; instead of asking citizens to help they will treat all citizens as potential terrorists. With the government's previous demonstrations of incompetence (Katrina etc) they will destroy any trust the citizens have for them.

Not too long ago i read the latest "Jack Reacher" novel by Lee Child .... don't ask me the name, google it .... the point is there was a so called "iraeli 10 point list for identifying a suspected suicide bombers". whether the list was valid or not, the list seemed to make sense to me. I am an avid people watcher when out an about. If you think a little bit about it and watch people in a crowded metropolitain area you can usually classify the sheep and the wolves. some people are inheritantly aware of their surroundings. Others are blissfully naive and unaware until a wolf attacks them and then they wonder WTF. They bring it on themselves. It is not a safe world out there. I HATE big cities and CROWDS just because of the many wolves there and about. I like my little snug haven in the woods and challenge any strangers who venture forth here. My previous post ... the thread starter was meant as a warning to try and avoid target areas if you can.... and if you can't then be extra observant of everything in your surrounding area. If you can't live that way, or choose not to.... well then I wish you luck and long life. you will need it!

While I agree that we are vulnerable, mainly because we have a free and open society, I have to throw a little water on this.
A little google on this guy shows him to be far rom what he claims. Snopes dismisses this email as a fraud.

    http://www.snopes.com/rumors/soapbox/juvalaviv.asp

Urban legends says that it has been circulating since 2005.

    http://urbanlegends.about.com/od/errata/a/juval_aviv.htm

Analysis: Given that it predicts terrorist attacks on "at least 5-8 cities" in the United States "within the next few months," probably the most important thing you need to know about this message is that it's at least two years old (with another variant dating back even further, to 2005), and has already proven itself false.

The second thing you need to know is that while Juval Aviv is a bona fide
corporate security consultant operating out of New York, his credentials as an intelligence expert have been questioned by both journalists and government sources. A 2006 article in The Guardian reported that "Aviv never served in Mossad, or any Israeli intelligence organisation," and "his nearest approximatin to spy work was as a lowly gate guard for the airline El Al in New York in the early '70s."

    A
letter written to the U.S. President’s Commission on Aviation Security and Terrorism in 1990 by Israeli counterterrorism adviser Yigal Carmon makes the same allegations, further claiming that Aviv is known to have been involved in "various acts of fraud and impersonation."

Notwithstanding specific claims made in the email above, I've found no legitimate sources confirming that Juval Aviv issued a warning to the Bush administration a month before the 9/11 attacks, nor that he predicted the London subway bombing one week in advance during an appearance on the Bill O'Reilly Show.

The village voice gives a scathing report on the guy.

    http://www.villagevoice.com/2007-10-16/news/secret-agent-schmuck/

But the most disturbing thing is this report from irregular times that claims he may be a schil for stirring up the masses to prepare the sheeple for more draconian "security measures".

    http://irregulartimes.com/index.php/tag/juval-aviv/

In 2005, self-professed "terrorism expert" Juval Aviv appeared on FOX News to issue a dire prediction based on his ironclad sources. A terrorist attack was:
<DIR>Imminent and around the corner here in the United States. It could happen as soon as tomorrow, or it could happen in the next few months. Ninety days at the most.
</DIR>It didn’t happen, but that didn’t stop Juval Aviv from appearing on FOX again and again with his dire predictions. In the summer of 2007, again Aviv predicted a terrorist attacks in "ninety days":

This time, the group promoting Juval Aviv’s claims of a terrorist attack within "ninety days" was Family Security Matters, a group that according to Sourcewatch was headed by senior members of the Bush administration. The terrorist attack didn’t happen then either, but you know what did happen? With Republican politicians all around Washington braying in response about that supposed imminent terrorist attack, the Protect America Act was shoved through Congress with mere days of notice. You remember: that was the law they passed after Republican Senate Majority Leader Trent Lott stepped in front of the microphones and told everyone to vacate DC before the inevitable August 2007 terror attack. No, there was no terrorist attack, but thanks to all that waving of hands they sure did pass that law. The Protect America Act was the precursor to the FISA Amendments Act, a bill that enables the federal government to search your belongings, your home, your office, and your communications without notice to you, and without a constitutionally-mandated warrant or even notice to a judge for 67 days.

Juval Aviv should have left this country in shame after twice hawking predictions of imminent terrorist attack, once supported by FOX and once supported by a Bush-administration-packed homeland security advocacy group. And indeed, Juval Aviv did leave the country for a time last year, traveling to Australia to tell gullible audiences Down Under that they were in danger of imminent terrorist attack. No, that didn’t come to pass either.

I assumed that Juval Aviv would have the sense not to come back to the States and make his predictions again. I underestimated (or is that overestimated?) him.

    Juval Aviv is back

oops !!! i apologize to one and all for not veting this post. thanks for calling it MM

I DO HOWEVER FULLY STAND BY POST #4 about crowds and awareness of your surroundings, and watching people.

It is not a gentle world out there, and we have a fool for captain of this ship right now. I think we are very vulnerable!!! [dunno][flag][gun]

The messenger may be faulty but the message has merit. We are vulnerable to terrorist attack and it will probably happen sometime but living in a free country is much more preferable than living in a police state for "our own safety".
I have lived many years in the Middle East where you can't go anywhere without checkpoints and random searches, be asked at anytime to show your papers etc. No thanks, I would rather risk a possible attack than have all of our freedoms restricted. I would rather risk a crazed lunatic with a gun than disarm the people.
The price you pay for freedom.

that was my take;I stiill feel Bushco's so called "patriot" act has done far more damageto thiscountry than abunch of transplanted camel jockey's could hope for alone.
Osamma bin laden is not reading my e-mails, tallying points to add me to alist limiting my ability to travel in my own country or own a firearm "we" did this too ourselves!

I respect our military, but I don't buy "they are protecting our freedom" in AFGHANISTAN. Thanks for posting the opening post Tac; generates good discussion.
