I do have to admit tho , those greens sure look good,,,my grandmother would cook collards , and them things were so good , you didn't need anything else with them,,, 'cept maybe a biscuit.
True,,,there always was,,,but eating it was optional,,,,grandma usually used salt cured pig tails ,,,,you know,,,the part of the pig that got the most fertilizer,,,,
Today started with bacon, eggs and hash browns too. E8AC66FC-4D70-4452-B456-D2CB323792D9 by Hanzo posted Oct 21, 2018 at 11:37 9C29F96C-694A-46E7-A41D-04E479C89C63 by Hanzo posted Oct 21, 2018 at 11:37 CC2ED82E-185C-4C9F-B05B-DF825F07185A by Hanzo posted Oct 21, 2018 at 11:37
I don't have pictures, but my breakfast was a small bowl of chili with an over easy egg on top. My wife wasn't all that thrilled with the chili (a little too spicy for her) so I used it in a shepherd's pie for dinner with layers of potato, cheeses (cheddar, smoked gouda, havarti and parmesan) also a layer of grape leaves
Any food is good, problem with age is that calories eaten have to match calories expended and as you slow down, I am 80, you have to cut down on the high calorie food and I have great problems doing so, and it seems like the food you crave most is the ones you should eat the least of. I am afraid the vegetarian food is much better for me than buttered bacon over a couple eggs for breakfast. YMMV
