Best thing I've found for gutters is a PVC extension pipe with a 180 degree elbow on gutter end, and a leaf blower on the other end. Now I just walk along the ground and blow all the crap out of the gutter in 1/10 the time it used to take with a ladder.

That's a creative solution! Best I've done from the ground was with the hook of my cane, but that gets me soaking wet, so it's not so good in cold weather. I've been getting some good PT using my current method. It's like doing sideways, decline planks for 130 feet. Cold rain adds a little more incentive to move briskly. When I was alone in the storm and didn't even have that woman to listen for me to fall off the roof, this technique seemed like the safest way to get the gutters cleared out and not go crashing down into the cactus and garden gnomes.
