The cost of Union vs Non-Union IMO

 

My '79 Jeep CJ-7 had 582,000 miles on it before a piston blew and I had to rebuild the engine.It now has 586,000 miles on it and it is going strong.BTW,it has a 258 straight six under the hood and the only oil I have ever used is Pennzoil 30W!

 

I think so too. The big 3 are so focused on that bottom line...AND they have to make up the costs for union overpay/benefits that they buy cheaper parts to make up the difference to meet those quarterly earnings.

 

I've had mostly good luck with my vehicles...
a 1979 Datsun 210 with 320k miles (1 water pump and 2 clutches)
4 dodge minivans each with over 225k miles
a 2000 beetle with 235k

we run the wheels off anything we have... the element is a 2003 I hope to make 500k then swap the engine out if it needs it.... I love the room and ability to reconfigure it...
