I pay $17 each day to take light rail to work.
If i drove a 4 banger car it's about 62 miles (not km) round trip so I'd be looking at more than $10 gas thanks to our "Greater Vancouver Regional Carbon Tax" AND a % that goes to fund public transit on each and every litre pumped by EVERYONE in 70km radius of Vancouver...PLUS $17/day to park - 2 blocks from my work or $21/day to park @ work.....plus massive traffic jams all the time and toll bridges popping up everywhere.
Average rent for a TINY apt in Van is over $1000/month.
