I truly doubt it was a 'False Flag' for if it was it would have been much, much worse! How the cops got there in 60 seconds probably will turn out to be pure luck, coincidence and nothing more, not training or prearranged. I do believe @duane has got it right and the media is turning this to their left-wing advantage but no False Flag.

One CCW individual could have stopped this. The world is a dangerous place and, unfortunately, until people realize this and accept responsibility for their own safety these types of things cannot be stopped.

Exactly the warning signs have been in our faces for years but the go to answer is, "what can we do about it".
I remember the Portland or Seattle I believe it was black man who obviously had problems thought he was a ninja

The rest are just ones that caught the MSM attention there are hundreds of these incidents many people on meds either don't like the way it makes them feel or makes them paranoid and they stop taking them thinking someones trying to harm them.

    Ninja downtown

Then you have those that turn it into a business

Then you have those that instigate murder and hate

Really strange that they did not have security guards, a sign in desk and then an armed escort to take visitors to their destination.

Yes this has been the norm for years in newspaper offices.

Along with the listed above is Buzz in and Buzz out magnetic locks for all passage..

Any pub with a bit of sense also has an off site mail inspection point.

How do I know? as the byline says, Been There Done That.

Not allowing CCW helps to keep the body count up. The left thinks that bolsters the arguments for more gun control.

My company recently issued a training module on computer that reiterates the company policy of no firearms on the premises, including the parking lot. (That runs counter to state law which says that individuals may keep firearms in their vehicles, no matter what company policies are). Anyway - it further instructs any employee who sees another individual in possession of a firearm to immediately call police.

Who wants to bet a dollar to a donut that a Gun Free Zone sign was posted?

My old state IT building was a "gun free zone" too. My first several years there was on night shift. Open parking lot across the street. No one ever knew I had a .45 Colt pistol in my briefcase.

In the US today, I would carry, regardless of ANY business telling me I could not do so, on their premises. I would simply avoid those businesses - like the plague. If there were a question regarding local or state laws saying I couldn't - you can bet your bottom dollar I wouldn't be in one of those cities or states, either. They can take their "Gun Free Zones" and shove them where the sun doesn't shine!

My old job had a gun range in the basement area. It had been an underground tunnel to the parking garage across the street. It closed shortly after I joined due to issues with the city.

NTL we cast bullets, sized them and loaded thousands of rounds.
I held a couple of classes and used a lot of the old Linotype since we had moved on to digital format.
And that's exactly how it use to be in one of the largest Newspapers in the SOUTH. Owned and ran by real Texans and the Houston Endowment gave away millions of dollars while the Liberal Rag across town went belly up and bitched all the time that it wasn't fair. FAIR, we had to make a profit and give away money too!

Due to my hours I often left late and as I started out the door I either had a pistol in my hand or an open locked pocket knife. The druggies and drunks just seemed to know.

Theydidn't need to because the cops were 60 seconds away.... I just can't get over that response time. To park the car, walk across the road and into a building takes 60 seconds.

They had to have been there waiting. That is the only way that response time could have been 60 seconds. They engaged him immediately. National average is between 8-15 minutes that is something I recall reading a while ago.

Geeeze people.... the response time is pretty simple, pure damn luck. I have seen people rob a bank and run out the door chest first into cops, an attempted car jacking with an unmarked parked right behind the car they were attempting to jack, another bank robbery that occurred almost next door to a Task Force (drugs) base.... it is called pure luck, from time to time it happens. Police PATROL that means moving around, that means at times they are going to be well and truly Johnny on the Spot.

Then there's the time to get a few rounds off before someone gets to dial 911. When was that one minute measured from? Too much unknown for me to think false flag or conspiracy. (I know I can get 10 rounds off in way less than a minute from my 870, if I have the tube block removed and start full. Most likely WAY more, and I haven't tried in several years.)

The response time would be from the time the first call was made I would presume, the only other explanation was that a cop was already out of a vehicle close by on a job when the first shot were fired. The reports here were that he started off shooting through the front glass (from outside) so you can bet the calls were made right after that.

More culturally trained people with guns is all the deterrent necessary to deal with the crazies and criminals .
I once worked as a security guard at a bar/restaurant and the prime directive is to be visible at all times. I never had one incident while I was there . And compared to the rest of the bars in the area it was dull . but busier than the rest .
Point is ,when people are aware of some form of discipline they behave better, less willing to take the chance an do something stupid .
When I see some one wearing open, I assume they are a cop or have a permit ,either case like a ham license, big brother knows where they live .
I believe that both open and concealed carry are good strong deterrents to crime, and I am sure that this is what makes criminals nervous, no matter what side of the law they pretend to be. .
