This makes me happy. I thought Anonymous was a bunch of computer nerds who wouldn't care about such an issue. It would be good to have them on your side against the govt. If they could wreak electronic havoc with the machine, it might level the playing field somewhat. Seems like they're throwing down the gauntlet . . . .
My take from the video was that they seemed to be educating the public on the Constitution and the tiers, plus the duty of different parts of. I think it is very informative and thus will help those that failed to pay attention during Government 101. This will inspire and educate which will give more power to the people. I am on the fence regarding Anonymous, sometimes I applaud them, sometimes I think they should stay out of certain issues. Either or, Anon has a large following and when they speak, people listen and discuss. Gun control and what may be coming down the road needs to be monitored by the people.
I agree with you. They aren't exactly a neutral party. I could say that they are not the bad guys nor are they the good guys and that would leave only neutrality, but they are not neutral IMO. That being said, they are mostly on "our side", which is "TRUTH".
This should be interesting...most of those I know who are supporters of Anonymous are among the small list of "progressives" that I know (mostly through my wife, who still has some liberal tendencies and a habit of associating with other artists)... I am curious to see their reactions...
*disclaimer* This is not an attack on any of you. Don't take it that way or you will have missed the point. You folks have no idea how big anonymous is or what they do. You think they are progressives? You clearly missed the point. It is a movement about freedom. They are conservative in a way that belonging to a political party just can't explain. All men are created equal and the only way to gain power is to take it from another. That is TRUTH. To think that you haven't decided if they should keep their voice out of some issues seems unAmerican at best, inhuman at worst. The freedom of speech applies to everyone, especially the ones you DON'T want to hear. The smallest voices are the ones you fight for the hardest. Anonymous has nothing to do with copyright, the 2nd amendment, computers, America, Canada, Sweden, or Africa or even the government. It has to do with all men being inherently free and the right to self determination regardless of where that attack comes from. People (not just Americans) have become so brain washed that they will fight for copyright laws for a massive corporation that has put their family and friends out of work, that have taken bailouts from people at the point of a gun, that have stolen money out of their pockets, that have killed people intentionally to improve profits. A soulless corporation with no accountability, no soul, and no responsibility for its actions has the consent of the men and women of the world to rule them. Never mind that the time when America prospered most, there were no corporations, no polls of public opinion, no fiat currencies. Those issues don't seem to matter to brainwashed sheep who have the shortest of short memories that only seem to be filled with playoff games and reality TV. Issues of freedom and bravery are all well and good just so long as there is football and baseball. The crowd is fickle. Give them bread and circuses and they care not how they are ruled. Well I've got news for you, war is upon you whether you want it or not.
No offense taken, but I don't think anyone mentioned them as being progressive. If I had to "label" them, I'd say they are Anarchists. I'm glad they are on our side though. The side of TRUTH. After all, Oceana has been at war with East Asia forever, right?
Like I said, not meant at anyone specifically. Just the general pop but they do seem to resonate with those who label themselves progressives.
These folks do the "cyber attack" thing and have taken down a few websites in the past. More power to them, I say.
@jasonl6.... Apparently you have not seen the Grief, they give the "Church of Scientology" This is the First and Prime "Cause".....
I agree somewhat, but, to reiterate what @NotSoSneaky stated, even if they are a bunch of computer nerds, you can do a lot of damage from a computer--probably one person can do more harm with a computer to a govt. than one person with a rifle. For example: Silent war on terror cyber
