I been making a few videos when I can, any skills that any one would like to see.
Fire from just the stuff around your campsite.
Makeshift water filter.... maybe?
shelter? in different environments?
I like the snares and traps.
Punji sticks with poo.
How do you prep your birds after you trap them. I figure you wring their necks, then pluck or boil? Do you have certain things you look for to make sure the bird is not sick? Maybe you do not eat birds.
Quick shelters with only natural stuff and how to make cordage from natural stuffs.
I've never actually seen a video on this, but I understand you have to be very delicate about covering them.
Otherwise, you might hurt your bottom.
It has been suggested that SM hold a skills weekend/month event. Reading the responses (except for the punji stick- whatever that is) is seems members want to dive in skills. I would like to see people from all over build shelters, camo, fire build etc... IMO @Bishop living in a lush FL environment has different stuff to work with vs. in my AO I do not have access to that stuff.
Yeah its hell on the hemorrhoids I'm told.
Wear good shoes....you don't want to slip.
was used against US troops in southeast Asia...
it was most often a group of sharpened bamboo stakes, sometimes they would try to put a barb like end on em...
painted with the stuff...
they put them in the high grass or underground with trap doors and in other ways...
like stakes all over a large ball of dried mud on a rope that would swing down after someone tripped a wire...
or on bamboo or springy wood held back and set to slam into you when you hit the wire...
the idea was not to kill right away but to puncture and then create a serious infection...
and IIRC the stuff used was feces mixed with blood (horse blood was reported as a fav)
allowed to percolate/ripen... and then painted on the stake...
