Just a warning: I will post spoilers.

I was looking forward to watching this movie, despite the fact that the stars are idiotic flaming lefties. The movie sort of followed through with their philosophy; guns were useless, women ultimately were in control because they were able to devise things the men could not.

The premise was simple- a section of a suburb was displaced in time to the (pre-cambrian?) dinosaur age. They are alone and cut off. Nobody coordinates with their friends or neighbors because they are all getting eaten by the dinosaurs. Of course, hardy anybody has any weapons.

I'm sorry, but growing up in the 80's, (the time period this movie takes place in) I had no problem with access to weaponry- archery, guns (pistols, revolvers, rifles, and shotguns), and edged weapons such as machetes (which would have proven really worth their weight in this predicament).

I'm not discounting that dinosaurs were dangerous animals, but it seemed to me they were depicted as going out of their way to seek humans. We must be extra tasty! I would harbor the thought that they would act like the dangerous animals that we know about today- bears for the solitary dinosaurs, lions for the group hunters, etc.

The idea in the movie that "nowhere is safe" should have been turned into "let'smake us a safe space" and then construct one. Of course teamwork between people and neighbors would be paramount, which this movie keeps everyone separated.

I don't have much time this morning, so I'll cut it short but I'd appreciate your thoughts on this movie!

Sounds like they put their modern libtard mindset into the 1980s time period, when the whole liberal thing was just getting started. It's like a zombie movie where the humans are getting munched by the "Zs" left and right, but we know that in many parts of the US, the country folk would band together, grab their weapons, use traps, bait and other hunting techniques.... pretty soon, no more zombies!
But these days, people don't trust neighbors - not without reason, I deal with tresspassers and thieves here in Sunny Florida - and the greater part of the populace seems to be embracing the liberal mentality of "weapons baaaad!"
When a true global disaster and survival situation does finally happen, I hope we still have enough real men and women left to come together and work to allow humanity to continue.
And everytime I read an article or see a Youtube video lauding science's attempt or desire to bring back prehistoric creatures, I think "BAD IDEA! Nature killed them off for a reason!" o_O

Yeah, in the movie their basic needs were met. Even without power or water, there were hot geysers popping up in spots, they still had the ability to make fire without resorting to primative methods, and I don't know if dinosaur meat is kosher or not- I'd be cooking dino burgers in a hurry.

LOL - good question. 'Turns out', it's not

Why Iguana Meat Is Not Kosher
    • Reptile status: Under Jewish dietary laws (kashrut) detailed in Leviticus 11, all reptiles, amphibians, worms, and insects are forbidden. [1]
    • Lack of signs: Kosher land animals must chew their cud and have split hooves (such as cows or goats), and kosher fish must have fins and scales. Iguanas meet none of these requirements.

The historical (or prehistorical perhaps?) record indicates that environmental conditions - temperature, oxygen and CO2 levels, etc. - were very different from today. At certain times the O2 was far higher than today, which would be as deadly to us as low O2. At certain times volcanic activity was much greater, so there'd be higher temps, higher CO2 and CO, and acid rain. Then there were the parasites and germs troubling the dinosaurs. They'd likely be deadly to humans. So dinotimes would not be a good time to go back to. And all that is before we even consider the deadly dinos themselves!

Today, there are a very few good movies made. The rest are either remakes/reboots that have done nothing but literally kill the original franchise, Star Wars, Marvel, and sadly Peter Jackson/Amazon has destroyed Tolkien’s Middle Earth, along with any originality that does not paint capitalism and any form of individual freedom loving individual’s as the world’s greatest evil with socialism/communism as this planets only salvation. With the merger of Paramount and Warner Brothers happening just last week, maybe this trend can be reversed. The movie industry has all but physically left Hollywood for cheaper and greener pastures while neutering Hollywood’s film unions.
Most movies made today are not worth the bandwidth to even pirate them through a torrent, let alone pay $25 or more for a movie ticket let alone the cost of a simple soft drink and a bag of popcorn, which brings up another point. Unless you have your favorite movies, tv series, or music cd’s in your hand in what ever physical format. You simply do not own them. Sony recently wiped every movie on every single PlayStation that was purchased as a digital format through simple updates.
As for the good movies that are still made, I will simply wait till I can buy the dvd or Blu-ray used at my local Goodwill or other thrift store.
