    I have been looking at Hunting Africa and thought I would see if there is anyone else interested maybe share a trip more the merrier and the cheaper the guide is.
    Plan it out a year, two, or three?

    What you estimate the total cost for a trip like this with trophy tags and fees would be?
    Isn't it usually in the 20-30K range?

    Airfare from NY to Nairobi is on the order of 2K going on a monday and coming back 2 weeks later on friday, overnight flights and cheap seats. You westies are looking at a few bux more.

    And an AR will NOT do. Add a few grand more for a nice rifle, and a grand for suitable glass. If you can do it at all, a new rifle would put the cap on a once in a lifetime trip. (Don't forget ammo, apt to run a couple dollars a round.)

    Phil Lozano on the Handloader's Bench is a PH, I think Tanzania. You might touch base with him in the research phase.

    Building a 458 lott should be done by the end of summer.

    I wish!
    But I'd be the one bringing all the cameras!
    Too old and not in good enough shape to shoot a big gun...
    But, I'm deadly with my 650-1300 lens!
    And a couple of Canon digitals..oh yeah!
    That's a dream come true!

    God don't I wish this has been a dream of mine since reading Capstick and Hataway excerps in my early teens in Guns and Ammo magazines .

    If I could though just plains game wouldn't do I would have to take a crack at a couple of "The Big Five" at least Lion and
    Waterbuf no idea how much just building a wall to hang an Elephants head on would be much less paying th fee for the elephant LOL !

    Evere since seeing a Greater Kudu at the zoo I always wanted one I would rather have an average one of those than a world record "Whitetail" or "Mulie" .

    Got my guns together; .375 H&H Magnum, 7mm Weatherby Magnum, .270. I want to shoot things that have hides that make good rugs and wall hangings. Probably should take a shotgun too; I hear the birds are hard to resist.
