AP Source: Michael Jackson dies in LA hospital AP - 1 minute ago LOS ANGELES - Michael Jackson, the sensationally gifted "King of Pop" who emerged from childhood superstardom to become the entertainment world's most influential singer and dancer before his life and career deteriorated in a freakish series of scandals, died Thursday, a person with knowledge of the situation told The Associated Press. He was 50.
Michael Jackson died today too.... Somehow not feeling the same sense of loss about this as I do with Farah.
I'll probably get slammed but just don't care today... I keep thinking of 3 phases.... 1960's/1970's child superstar... 1980's "Thriller" Superstar...and incredible talent. Was I the only one on here that owned that album? And enjoyed it? 1990's to today...Extremely weird behavior fading star....Tortured, and Sick individual..... It is safe to say, he has entertained nearly everyone in the world, in one way or another........... Either via his music, or through jokes at his expense...
I can't help but think of my daughter - she was a big MJ fan in the 80's. She must be feeling like I did when Elvis died and we all found out he had become other than who we thought he was.
Not a very Christian sentiment but I have to agree. I have counseled abused kids. There is a place reserved in hell for those who abuse children.
Re: Michael Jackson died today too.... That's kind of the same way I am feeling. He was a sick pedophile, I hope his adopted children can recover from the damage he has done.
In his beginning, he was a star. People loved him, idolized him, dressed and danced like him. It wasn't until later in his life that his behavior was shown to be abhorrent. I wasn't a fan after he turned freak, but I was long ago. I had the Thriller album too. I'll go one further; I still have the Michael Jackson "American Music Awards" Doll.
Funny how things work, the advertisement banner on this board right now is for Jackson ringtones for your phone. Well, since deaths usually come in three's, I can't think of a better person to finish off the tragic losses of Ed McMahon and Farrah. It souds cruel, but he lost my sypathy when he started molesting children. Courts may not have had enough proof beyond a shadow of a doubt, but I don't think anyone else has any doubts. I'm sure the news media will Pontify him though. I just hope we don't have to start enduring the pity shows for Tito and Janet, or the "Elvis is still alive" game with Michael. Hopefully, he will quietly slip away.
I can't be the only one who thinks the Jackson family is capitalizing on MJ's death in the hopes of expanding the value of his residual estate. If there is money to be made off the image of his dead body, the Jackson's (along with all of his sycophants) will find a way. As much as I dislike MJ himself, I am appalled by the posturing.
