Are we such losers that we don't know when we are winning?

<HR style="COLOR: #d1d1e1" SIZE=1><!-- / icon and title --><!-- message -->How many times have we prayed for a politician who would actually follow the constitution, abolish the IRS, leave the UN, cut the size of government, protect our right to bear arms, protect our borders, etc. We have all prayed for it all our lives.

Here we have one in Ron Paul, a man who has ALWAYS voted on principle, and yet so many are willing to call the only man with tried and true integrity a nut job because-- get this-- he wants our foreign policy to follow the Constitution. A foriegn policy that our Fore Fathers wanted.

The real nutjobs are those who have destoyed this country's reputation in the past with unconstitutional policies. We funded terrorist organizations only to fight them later, we fund Israel and their enemies like Saudi Arabia. We invade Iraq to stop a dictator (for "numerous reasons," most false) one was for killing his own citizens with weapons we gave him etc. Now we have three faction who want to kill each other. What are we going to do when the surge fails? Put in another dictator like Saddam to brutally keep the peace to reinvade later as we have in the past?

Close your eye and picture if Al Gore had won in 2000 and was re-elected in 2004. Honestly, could he have screwed this situation up more than Bush. Limbaugh, Hannity and all those other RINOswould be having a field day with Gores incompetence.

At present we have two choices for dealing with radical Islam: 1. Completely level them with everything we have, including nukes or 2. Quit funding them, arming them, and let them go back to happily killing each other as they have for thousands of years. Only Ron Paul back one of these solutions and thank God it's backed by our constitution. Any of the other candidates (repubs or dems) will keep us in a never ending politically correct war. And that war will be over seas while our borders and freedoms are eroded at home.

As far as the other candidates goes, how can you sanely expect a politician to respect our 1st, 2nd... ammendments if they have no respect for the rest of the contitution?

Here are my reasons for voting for Paul. He is the only politician that has never flip flopped. His integrity is impeccable. (It's sad when integrity is call insanity.) Worst of all, conservatives are afraid to have a man who believes in a constitutional government go head to head with a liberal socialist (whether it's Hilary or Giuliani). I say bring on that fight.

For all of you who will call Dr. Paul a nut job is it because you fear he will infact reform our government to a constitutional government? Are you afraid of finally winning?

A few more questions. Ron Paul follows the constitution like the bible. I KNOW he will protect gun rights, close the borders, end foriegn aid to our enemies (like Saudi Arabia) etc. Do not respond to this post unless you can tell me: Who is your presidential candidate? How will they differ from Hillary? What is their guiding philosophy? How do you know?

Are Ron Paul supporters the only ones who can confidently answer these questions?

The truely pathitic thing about your post is that it is 100% spot on. People keep voting for the same socialist politicians and woundering why they keep getting the same results. [beat] It is so ridiculous that it would be comical if it weren't true. [soap]

Personally, I would NEVER call Dr Ron Paul a "nut job", but I have quite a few "issues" about him.

Why has he been IN and OUT of Congress so many times? I don't have all of the dates in front of me, but he was a "freshman" in Congress in 1976, then got out and went back in several times....for a total of only 13 years out of the past 21 years. Was he voted OUT of office, or did he simply lose interest in being an elected representative?

Why, at age 71, is Ron Paul NOW desirous of becoming the President of the USA, which is a high-stress position? YES, I know all about Ronald Reagan AND John McCain, but....!

How does Paul's background, as a gynecologist and a "lowly" Congressman, qualify him to be President? Don't misunderstand me, for Paul's voting record in Congress is outstanding, but I'm sure that there are others with similar voting records that AREN'T running for the Presidency. Maybe it's his being a gynecologist that throws me off a bit!

Sorry, but during the most recent Republican "debate", Paul was rather "simplistic" with his statement about the war against terror....at least in my opinion. When Googliani challenged that statement, Paul was afforded the chance to respond....but he stumbled all over himself! It was embarrassing, especially since he was given the chance to "clarify" what he had said! In a way, I also felt that what Paul said had bordered on being "un-American"! (I know that will go over like a lead balloon to many of you!)

It would be great if we could take the "favorable" traits of ALL of the candidates, and put together ONE candidate to run for the Presidency. I'd use Googliani's leadership qualities (only), McCain's military expertise, Romney's assertiveness/good looks, Tancredo's border "savvy", Huckabee's great sense of humor, and Paul's overall conservative convictions. On second thought, I might want to put them all together in a Presidential-LOOKING package with a "great orator" sound......UH, maybe like a Fred Thompson!

There's STILL a lot of time left before the list of candidates gets whittled down. If Ron Paul doesn't get the nod, PLEASE don't slash your wrists! Also, if Paul is discarded, I certainly HOPE that he will realize that UNITY needs to be restored. Just remember what we got when Ross Perot DIVIDED the deck!
I certainly hope that won't happen again....ANOTHER Clinton (or Obama)!

So your saying that it is Un-American to be simplistic and follow what the founding fathers wanted. [dunno]

Well, IMHO, the gynecologist part surely fits the bill; this country has been run into the ground by a bunch of P...... for too many years.

Paul is no Perot. He has a shot at winning and a proven record. Besides, Perot was important. Do you really think there would have been a contract with america if George Sr. won? Heck no. The repubs needed a wake up call then like they do now. If it comes between Giuliani and Hillary-- Hillary can have it. I see no difference between the two.

I'll post some youtube speeches he gave. The more I hear him speak, the more passionate I am for his campaign, and the more disgusted I get with all the other politicians in this land.

Good posts RJB. I think you nailed it. The talking heads and republican pundits don't know what to make of Paul. He tells the truth and that is so foriegn to them that it scares the crap out of them.

Thanks minuteman. Although I worry that I sound like door to door evangelist. I'm getting fired up about Paul. Today I visited my folks and my dad said, "Your guy Paul shot himself in the head." So I went on a half hour talk and turned my dad around (first time I ever did that...), but it wasn't too hard. He's irritated at being told who the top three candidates are too.

I'll try to tone it down but I really feel like the time is getting short, and unless we get Paul (and I think he does have a shot if we keep talking and acting) or even Tancredo, or maybe hunter, we're done for as a nation.

    Off my[soap] :)

Great post RJB, I'm 100% on board. It truly is troubling that the answer to everyones prayers is standing there hitting them over the head and they don't want to support him.
