well i got this done today. atco trailers are ubiquitous in Alaska and now i have my very own. there is a wood stove and lots of, um stuff in it. roof leaks so a blue tarp will secure my white trash status. it will fit right in here. it has a front porch yet to come also. it was 75 today so 85 in the connex. rain forest? wtf. anyway the loader bill is not done but 200 for the unit, 40 for permit, 20 tip to the truck so 350ish. i was scared to tow it with my van as only the front brakes work. i also picked up some shelving and a couple plastic cabinets with doors i need to make room for. two 12x14 a-frame units are next but i see a large loader with forks and flat bed semi as being a wise investment for moving those. im beat but pikka approves.
Nice score on the ATCO unit sounds like it’s already turning into a solid prep space! With a wood stove and some DIY fixes, it’ll be a cozy and functional setup in no time.
Well, if you didn't have all that stuff in there, I was going to say maybe insulate it to make it cooler in summer and warmer in winter. I heard that spray insulation in a Connex really works well.
I just finished doing a small bathroom remodel,, replacing soft floors, new linoleum,, traded labor out for an 8x16 , 9 ft tall solid metal portable storage unit. It's one of them units they'll deliver to you house. The guy has 3 of them ,, I traded the labor for 1 of them,, am gonna buy the other one for about 500 bucks,, maybe,, Good catch on your trailer.
got the a frame today. 100 i think plus loader/flatbed. the 2nd one was rotten and floor collapsed,,, so didn't get that one. turns out my friend built this 30 years ago. knee deep in stuff! some good. for the price i cant bitch. i do hate yard sales though. tore the steps off the porch, but should be a easy fix. 78 today. that's just to damn hot.
That's a nice little hut! It could be made into a bunch of things, very useful, and with the metal roofing/siding it would last forever. Good catch!
