Using Chirp Windows 7 running. The software is installed the USB recognizes the device, right clicking on the device shows port 7 Also : I noticed the chirp dropdown menu does not show this particular radio which may be an addition issue? verified in device mangers proper drivers no errors. Am I missing something ? How is port 7 input maybe thats it. Thanks
First, did you download the daily build of C.H.I.R.P. ? Second, did you see this part: BF-F8HP (in daily builds) Also includes the BF-F9V2+ Also includes the GT-3TP Also includes the UV-5R TP Third, is your BF-F9 the "V2+" model? If you answered "no" to any of these, that is likely the issue BTW, make sure the interface cable is completely inserted...some models require quite a bit of a push or in some cases, minor trimming of the plug. Good luck...let us know how things work out...or don't, for that matter.
Hi there, yes to all but for some reason the port took me going into device manger and telling it to update the driver. Even though it showed it there and operative the update driver found the software driver I had installed that said it was installed LOL, But then it worked. I have radio programed and seem to be working . Thank you for the response though also found that Radio needed the BF-F8HP chosen from the drop down to operate. Have not tested the radio it self but so far the chirp works Thank You.
Going to take some getting used to to figure the settings I notice no sound on REC yet I get sound from actions on the radio .
Have you tried depressing the monitor button, or lowering the squelch level? Maybe just key in one of the NOAA weather frequencies for a trial...?
I can get static it seems on the stock channels but the programmed one just lights up. I put it on a localpd channel with duplex off. and I have a police scanner to verify when it should show maybe I programmed the station wrong but it lights up. Hmmm. I can hear the repeater I programed well static . So probably a setting on the other I will try a weather one as you mentioned thats a good idea.
