The gameskeeper II blade from Barks River has been a very nice tool to use out in the woods for processing wood, and cutting stuff It has a lengthy blade which makes for a bit more length when wanting to baton split through wood. Its main purpose was for hunting though. It is a great knife to skin/cape out a big game animal. It has a portion above the handle that allows for a close hold on the blade when wanting to do some finer skinning. I didn't get a chance to use it for skinning but I split and hacked up plenty of wood with it. The A-2 steel is very hard and may require a bit more attention when sharpening but it will hold its edge longer(58hrc) than many steels. -Phorisc Live The Adventure
