Guit, I think those "superhero's" are a pale imitation of a real hero. Maybe change the definition of hero first

    Semantics...

Regardless...the point is that each one of them stood for something that generally centered around truth, justice, freedom, doing the right thing even though they had to the power to do otherwise. It made kids think and taught lessons....

Which one who's intro was "Truth, Justice, and the American Way?" but the way things are going, I'm not sure they really present "the American Way"

Thats it the super hero's gave kids morals and taught them to be honest and stand for what was right and help others in a time of need to be proud. To alot of kids who didn't and still today don't have that perfect life and parents it gives them an escape. A place to go and not be judged a place that teaches them the basics of right and wrong. I was always a little weirdo and like zombie's but still I can remember how excited I was to be waiting on the new GI Joe, Batman, Super friends, and Superman Comics to come out. Another thing I like is I try to get my girls into reading comics is if kids are reading them they are not setting infront of an X-Box or a Tv they are using their Imagination and it helps with their reading skills. It is the last thing well with the older comics and even tv shows left of what America use to be and stand for. Now they are taking them away from our children another thing that will be lost forever. Kids don't need to be reading about a gay mans choice of life style. They need to be learning right from wrong, how to help other who need help not for any other reason than that is the right thing to do. If we do not guide our children down the right path and let them know whats right and wrong. What is acceptible of men and wemon by controling what they watch, read and exposed to there will be no hope for the future.

well technically you can take any symbol and change it to mean something else. the swastika used to mean peace and strength before the third reich got a hold of it.

Not exactly, It's more like, put more pregnant teenagers on TV, More men on men action in movies, or make those hot chick smut books even hotter with some unbelievable romance chapters, or open up the porn channels on cable. I CHOOSE not to consume that media.

If THEY want to reflect what they think they see in society, so be it. It makes absolutely no difference to me.

Now on the other hand, they propose rounding up "insert distinct group here" and "insert action verb here" and "insert punishment/legal action verb here", then that is when I'll care.

Other than that, it's a matter of CHOICE that one takes interest the media and their folly. In this case a Gay Superhero is nothing more than a publicity stunt to cause buzz and keep Batman relevant to today's digital world. When every one knows that Spongebob is the Bomb!

Who lives in a pineapple under the sea? Sponge Bob Square Pants! Absorbent and yellow and porous is he. ......................

Sorry bout that. Anyway, big freaking whoop. It's entertainment so they say, whatever. Now they mess with John Wayne, someone is gonna get hurt.

Again, this is my Not So Humble Opinion and yours can differ and I'm ok with that too.

Well I didn't bring any kids into this world (that I am aware of), so this changes nothing for me.

However, any man who wears tights is pushing the boundaries to begin with, so...

Those are blue jeans, not tights.

Besides, Chuck Norris doesn't actually wear clothing --hemp, cotton, spandex, rayon...it all coalesced out of the ether based on the need to feel wanted by Chuck Norris. In fact, he dropped kicked spandex square in the face once...and now it stays a comfortable 6 feet behind Chuck Norris at all times.

It's going to be Green Lantern. [wannamesswitme]

The BS of this is that you don't normally see kissing like that in any of the Justice League comics. Again, absolutely no reason to introduce this.

It's all for the free marketing and buzz.

One could contact DC Comics to express their disappointment.

but if Wonder Woman is jumping the fence, I'm so buying that issue!

The LGBT agenda hits kid's comics now. The indoctrination continues.
I don't care if someone of consensual age lives an 'alternate lifestyle', it's their choice. But pushing this on the kids...... just not right.

Pushing religion on kids and indoctrinating them in supernaturalism is evidently ok?

Edit: It seems that DC comics have made a commercial decision to cater for a growing demographic of consumers who are prepared to pay for the content of comics that they find acceptable if not agreeable...are you suggesting that the free market should be interefered with?......the invisible hand of market forces will determine whether the commercial decision was a viable one...or not. Parents have the option of boycotting DC comics if they don't want their children to be indoctrinated by LGBT friendly content...in the same way that parents of a secular inclination may at their discretion steer their children away from religious content if they find that offensive to their world view. Though...I would suggest that young people should become thoroughly familiar with the scriptures...all of them...not just the soft, fluffy stories...they might just find that the odd male super hero kissing their manfriend to be far less weird than the incest, rape, murder, deception, genocide, slavery, concubinage, prostitution, honour killing, and so forth featured in the Torah, and the Old and new Testaments....yep....they should become familiar with the story of Onan...now there's a story suitable for children... Maybe DC comics should do a graphic novel of all of the erotic and naughty bits involving Biblical superheroes...would that be ok??

I didn't say anything about religion. My point was about pushing a liberal agenda. To my knowledge, Christianity has never been brought up in the mainstream comics. I would even say that comics should be something that might raise the ire of Orthodox or literal Christians. After all, Thor is a God according to Germanic history.

Back to my point: this is not about gay vs religion. I've seen some comics with the Kenyan in them. Or, perhaps the suits of women vs men were a problem for NOW. So, comics' response were to take the suits of heroines like Wonder Woman away and replace them with something more frumpy. Additionally, they would take the curves away, thus making them look more androgynous like a runway model.

So, my original point wasn't focused on the gay aspect, but the liberal agenda.

This is why I stated early on that this would be commercial suicide. What's the market for this? Were there focus groups? IS there a market for this? If so, go for it...however, I don't think your general comic buff will go for it. Additionally, I think if they push this to the cartoons, you'll have a big dropoff in viewers.

If back in my days of reading comics and worshipping superheroes someone had told me that DC Comics would someday jump on the goobersmoocher bandwagon I would have called them liar..I guess I've outlived my time.
